we are in the early 1990's stage of Mcfarlane toys - still need to wait around 8-10 years before they evolved to what they've become back mid 2000 🤣 - I was waiting for the Nightmare Spawn with articulation but seeing this version is disappointing - great review as always

I wish the Toddfather would make more of the actual Spawn figures because there isn't a lot of those. Especially here in the 🇵🇭 There's always a scarcity of him and the prices are insane!

I agree, there should be an anchor Spawn in every wave. There still isn't an actual standalone Al Simmons Spawn in the entire 4 waves so far outside of the DLX Throne Spawn.

Plague was definitley the stand out of the wave. Nightmare was the ultimate let down and the figure from this wave I was most excited for. The 100% scaled down Omega Spawn for cost cutting purposes as he should be the same size as Violator, even if he was as big as Overtkill that would be fine, but he's wayyyy too small. Sam & Twitch were fine and King Spider is the most random character to throw in a Spawn line..

ToyShiz, I agree Plague Spawn is the best and the only one I have picked up(probably even after clearance). The promo pics had me concerned about the execution. In the store Plague passed the muster. Enough reviews of Omega Spawn (all finding him lacking) and a pass for him..really only Spider still interests me. Nightmare Spawn totally missed on rendering and execution. I read the comics and I balked at him hardcore. I am sure this waves sales and feedback will be reviewed and McFarlane toys will get to good. Great review✌️

Sam as said before makes a perfect DC Multiverse Bullock for Batman. Twitch looked too cartoon-ish for me. Omega will be a clearance item for me. They shouldn't have called thar gargoyle Nightmare spawn. It just isn't but it does make for a good background gargoyle minion. Plague spawn looks cool but I hate that black crabgrass on his back. I know what they were going for but it just didn't translate very well to figure form. Take the head off of Plague, paint it day glow green on the inside and put it on a suited 7" body and you got a nice Batman Beyond Suited Blight.

The picture of Nightmare Spawn on the back of the box is just a repainted Torso of Raven Spawn so you can make a cooler Nightmare Spawn if you like, but the only part you can use is the wings and honestly the wings on the Marvel Legends Knull/Venom 2 pack is actually a better fit.

If anyone buys omega spawn get a pot of water and heat up the wrists. Pop out the hands and after that add a dab of dawn soap on both sides of the wrist joints. I highly suggest you do that if anyone wants to purchase him.

It's weird how this spawn line hasn't been great, considering it's Todd's property. Most of the mega figs have been disappointing with exception of violator, but most of DC multiverse megafigs have been good and even awesome. Todd is a strange person, sometimes he makes great decisions and some other he leaves us confused about why did he or his company do this or that.

King Spider I think has the best sculpt of the lot, but I just don't care about the character and it's not a design I find myself wanting. Plague Spawn I could see converting into a Black Heart. Overall the hit or miss nature of this wave gives me the impression McFarlane loses the forest for the trees. Every single figure is uniquely sculpted with a decent amount of paint but then they don't stick the landing of being action figures. Can't use their accessories, breakage issues, etc. You need to be able to still play with them. At least the price point is the best on the market

It's disappointing to hear and see that these figures suck. I was so excited for nightmare spawn especially. But now I think I'll only pickup sam and twitch on clearance

My Omega snapped exactly the same way with the same hand. Luckily McF sent me another for free. But yeah, overall quality on these are subpar. Paint is inconsistent, loose joints all over the place, art that doesn't match the figure and so on. On a shelf with older McF figures these really stand out as eyesores.

I was soooo disappointed with this version of Nightmare Spawn, I was hoping it looked like the original Nightmare spawn from back in the days. I was never ever able to find him in the stores when he first came out and on the secondary market Nightmare Spawn is just Sooooo expensive for me.

Man seeing how this wave was done and how much it upsets you is so painful. You clearly care a lot for the spawn figures and series and it feels as though Todd was rushing this wave or just too busy. Nightmare Spawn… literally! 😂😂😂. I think all the sculpts are good - if you like variations of monster humanoid figures. But the quality is disappointing. Since McFarlane figures are 7 inches, it would be great if they have real cloth and chains, but that will increase cost…. Too bad…. With real cloth, Sam will have a wider articulation range when holding the gun.

When you first buy an action figure use a blow dryer to heat it up to loosen the joints before you move them around they'll never break again if you do it that way

As figures become more articulate the more problems they come with. Seriously, give me the 90s smaller figs with limited articulation atleast they move better and are more playable. This whole line has been a big let down and McFarlane is a con man. King Spider??? Really?
