I agree, this car is a winner! But I'd look back to 2010 and the release of the original K5/Optima. That was the first car designed by Peter Schreyer after they poached him from Audi. To me, that was the turning point for this company. They've come a long way.

I’m simple man I See Stinger I click! 🔥 The initial break-in sound will be minimal - you will probably hear a slightly deeper growl and more aggressive sound. After a long period added more mileage - is where you will hear a significant change in sound!

Nice video Sam! You need to remember that Kia officially calls this a GT car and not a sports sedan. Maybe the thinking was that the 8 speed will be smoother than the DCT and also improve durability of the car. It's a fantastic car at this price!

I just bought a slightly used 2019 GT2 because I just don’t care for the light bar taillights that every manufacturer seems to be doing now, and they also made the exhaust tips bigger which almost seems cartoonish 🤷🏻‍♂️😂. I mean if the car was pushing like 600hp I could understand, but it’s a bit much…

Bingo. The tail lights look like they are from a dodge charger. It no longer has that unique tail light look that set it apart. Got one of 21 models before the switch. Plus the gt1 drops the Harmon audio on the 22 so you are forced to get the gt2 which reduces the bang for buck.

Canada got shafted. First the new 2.5L is not available, and why did they mess up the rear badges. They finally did it right on the USA ones but here in Canada that rear end is a mess. So it's up to the owners to risk removing the badges again, and put the proper Stinger script badge on like the USA. Plus, the exhaust should be louder, and it should be active, unless we got shafted on that as well. At least our price is still competitive.

I have had the Kia Stinger for just over a year now, and the car is super for its value. But, there has been some problems. I have gone through three new brake rotors (not for the rear wheels) and 4 brake pads. I have went through the DBA break set, of course Brembo, and Delphi, and they all failed for me as I have reached 275km/h with the car (a small ECU tune to 400 hp). They just started to vibrate at even speeds of 70. The car i just too heavy and kia has saved money on the breaking system i believe, because the diameter of the break rotors is small for just a big car. Some rattling noise in the cabbin, but doesnt bother me. However, the car truly does feel it has driven 100 thousand kilometers, even thought it has 25 thousand km, as at higher speed just as 100 and above there some vibration in the steering wheel and the whole car (i have balanced the wheels and i dont drive over harsh bumps or potholes that could dent the rims). But, at the same time, the car is very special and it has a personality, in Latvia Stingers are very barely seen and i believe it just a car that goes against the flow against cars such as bmw, merc and audi. Its basically the Koreans version of an Alfa Romeo😂

Hey Sam, for viewers, my 19 Has power steering wheel and I have turbo boost gauge, oil temp gauge, in the instrument cluster, etc.. and engine sound levels selection is there too before. It sounds nice for that European sound, but not mustang/hellcat V8 sound.. but either do many German brands without aftermarket mods... I agree, I'd like my stinger to sound a bit more deeper sound.. but not too loud, because it's a Classy car for family and bus. man, sorta.. from factory, it's good not to be too loud, or guys like me wouldn't of bought it..... LOVE My Stinger GT.. Best Sports Sedan on the Planet !! For the Price !! Truly an Upscale Luxury type sports sedan, in all areas.. Not super lux, but better than BMW' of same to $20K more models

This video was rather confusing to me. First all the other reviews state that the 2022 model is louder than previous models, I've only listened to one from outside or with the door open, so I'm not sure if it's the insulation inside making it quieter inside, or maybe they just have less fake pumped in noise. Second, the complaint about the brakes is ridiculous. This isn't meant to be a track car, or even a sports car. It's a GT car, and especially at this price range having brake options doesn't make any sense. Having proper brembo brakes already put the stinger ahead of the competition. Third, the transmission complaint. Same as what I said about the brakes, this is a GT car, it's focus is more on being a great car for long drives rather than getting the fastest 0-60 time down the drag strip. Even BMW and Audio usually use torque converter automatics in their GT oriented cars. Putting a DCT in it would trade comfort and transmission durability for an ambiguous performance number which is irrelevant for most people that would own a car like this. Basically the main complaints just seemed like searching for something to complain about, without there being proper logic behind the things you complained about.

Kia does not currently offer a DCT that can handle the Stinger performance. The DCT in the Seltos is only good for 200hp.

DCT transmissions from Kia are crap. My 2021 Kia Sorento x-line prestige left me in the middle of the road with no power. It had only 6k. Miles I returned that lemon and I got my Stinger gt2 back. Check forums for the horrible DCT transmission on seltos, sorentos, and even in the genesis GV70s.

I tested and finally I bought a Lexus IS350. Why? Yes, the Stinger can slide, but with too much (for me) rolling. It is also more powerful, but the 2022 I tested, even if it looked luxurios, I heard strange sounds coming from suspension and I heard plastics moving and cracking, so I imagine what will be in less than 2 years. I was right when I tried also a 2018 model, everything was cracking. I liked the stiffer suspension, but in town, within the canadian canadian roads, everything was felt like I was in a horse-drawn carriage, sorry for my expression. I'm thinking to Audi A5 Sportback that I tested and even if it had a stiffer and harder suspension, in the town the car moved in translation with itself, where Kia was like dismembers itself. Good for a second car for the track, if you afford it. I'm 6.2 and I feel very comfortable in the IS350 and coming from a Honda V6 Touring (with active dampers) I had the plan to go for the Acura TLX but the turbo lag just killed my apetite.

It could since it has SH-AWD, adaptive dampers & pushing 355 HP but you'd still have to add a few mods because the Stinger is pushing 368 HP. Since Acura's & Honda's are highly modd-able cars, you could add a mod or two & get it close to 400 HP

Nothing against the brand, but the Stinger is just really ugly looking. I think the new K5 GT looks a lot better inside and out. I just wish they would remove all the fake vents and cheesy designs. I went out to test drive one and as much as I love the ride and performance, I was kind of embarrassed to be seen in one. Needless to say, I did not buy the car and went to look at the Genesis G70 instead.

This is a German mistake actually. We need a car not a plastic rubbish. We know the price is fabulous, but it is really rubbish cheep plastic assembly. BMW and Mercedes has a quality plastic and materials plus engineering performance. Kia life is short after 5 years you will get lots of problems. Because, it is not a just design of body or Shane 🚗.
