I agree with how Aiman got lost to search for his word to try to review this car because the car is ... uninteresting... compared to its rival. The car is however a better car mechanically and suit the SUV world compared to its' competitors. Too bad most potential buyers will overlook this particular model.

Great presentation brother. Indeed this car is getting older in terms of design and powertrain. But somehow it still appealing for enthusiast I believe especially those who driven a Subaru AWD before. Wish the Forester has a 2.0 turbo or 2.5 NA engine.

Great review, however I would say that the competitors you mentioned, have smaller turbo charged engines, that wear out much faster as all turbo charged engines do, and have bad reliability ratings. I am now on my 3rd forester, the first two both did about 400000 km. No problems.. Normal maintenance and a couple of cv joints. I would still have the second one, if it had not had the roof smashed by a construction vehicle, so insurance wrote it off, rather than fix it. They are practical vehicles and only add on things that are needed and perfected after a long time. Think about being in mud or snow with it, all the equipment and buttons can still be used easily with gloves on. Practical wins it for me. Good video.

Is snow mode relevant in Malaysia?

Why we don't get Sunroof for Subaru in Malaysia, whereas in Philippines & Singapore they get Sunroof! What lar very inconsistent... In Japan, Subaru cars get Toyo tires!! Pls highlight this differences to Motor Image 😎

Because Malaysians generally don't like sunroofs. Which is why XV & Forester customers haven't brought this up.

It now looks as if they have sacked car designers altogether and instead made free with the parts-bin. Neither military or utilitarian in influence and missing any sense of detail or surprise. We know what’s coming and in the long oks department it is unfortunately a blind date with a nightmare, and not just from this particular manufacturer.

those cars above RM150k better be lasting on a longer term

The headlight cluster and overall body shape look okay enough. Conservative and not flashy. But the upper and lower grills..they definitely need more work. The chrome trim around the fog lights look awful, like they're from some crappy early 2000s car. The GT body kit is simply awful to behold. Such a shame, for an otherwise mechanically brilliant car. Should have been available with the 2.5-liter motor as an option as well.

We think such an engine would have cured alot of the issues we faced with it.
