My parents recently got one of these, and we live in eastern Ontario where it snows like crazy in the winter. In February we got a major snow dump where we got like two feet of snow, and we needed groceries... I took this to the supermarket, and after putting it into X Mode Deep Snow, it could actually get through a solid foot and a half of snow in the entrance to the parking lot. My father, a boomer, was stunned that a modern 4x4 system could get through that much snow.

We got one of these out of pure luck back in May. We were desperately car shopping after an accident and everyone was out of stock on new inventory. We went to Subaru and got the only Forester in stock; it’s the best car we’ve ever owned. The way it handles and the smooth ride make it great for everyday driving.

I was never a fan of subaru until I drive and own a forester just this year.I am really surprised how it performed especially in winter and driving 10 to 15 hours straight.i love it..Because of that I consider my 2022 forester like a Swiss knife..simple but can Do it all.

Having driven a couple of these, they're very comfortable and full of features. Power is adequate and the CVT fakes gears so it doesn't drone. Kind of defeats the purpose of a CVT but it's unobtrusive with the full-time AWD. Visibility is great and Eyesight works very well. Tons of room. The only complaints I have are that the materials are a little cheap and hard and it has a lot of road and wind noise. The Outback feels more premium and is quieter. The Outback is lower, longer, and heavier so it rides nicer but is a little slower with the same non-turbo engine as the Forester. It's true that Subaru people won't drive anything else. A friend traded a 2nd gen Forester for a '20. My grandfather drives a '20 Forester and he says it's tied with a Studebaker for the best car he's ever owned. The first car I bought myself is a '22 Outback. I took it up to Vermont and it blended in with all the Subarus everywhere. It handled muddy dirt roads just fine while being very easy to drive on the highway with Eyesight.

I wanted a Subaru with a manual and bought a crosstrek. You can have the CVT, frankly the repair cost out of warranty is too high. I'm a professional truck driver and I also just dont like driving aids. The crosstrek is also a very good value, atleast I think so.

I just got a 2022 Forester Touring. Absolutely love it! I’ve been driving Mercedes’ suvs for over 10yrs and have to say, I actually like my new Forester even better. It’s gorgeous. It rides incredibly smooth. Rear heated seats are fav with my son and heated steering wheel are a fav of mine. Really beautiful on the inside. The only thing I don’t like is the cup holders. They are too far back. Feels awkward. But otherwise perfect. Massive room in rear passenger area. Great leg space up front. And lots of cargo space. Am now a Subaru convert!

In July I purchased the 2022 Subaru Forrester in the Cascade green it is also a limited. I enjoy the car very much it handles great. to me the seats are very comfortable and I have plenty of head and leg room in the front and in the backseat I love the cargo space I have two Golden retrievers that I take with me at times in the cargo area lots of room with the seats down. The engine with the CVT transmission I feel gives me plenty of power on the highway and in the city and on top of that I am experiencing about 33 miles per gallon on the highway and about 28 in the city and that’s on regular gasoline. I do have a recommend this vehicle I live in Tennessee where we get some mixed weather using heavy rain storms very little snow but still a very all around comfortable vehicle

people should be made more aware of subarus recent cracking windshield problem. They say its only on certain models arlund 2016 and 17, but after reading peoples posts on forums, it sounds like subaru is still having this issue and on all their vehicles with the eyesight. If youre reading this and considering a new subaru like myself, pls educate yourself on their cracking windshield issue and find out if you are covered thru warranty or insurance.

My 2015 Outback has this cracking windshield issue.... It can crack with no impact on simply a hot day. Currently it has a small 10 inch crack way over in the corner of the passenger side, which seems to have releaved the stresses because this has been stable for 3 years

The leather interior still only comes in 1990 death black. It’s too bad that you can’t get a Forester Limited in Ivory leather like in the Outback. Yeah the Subaru in the 70s still had the Fugly grey interior 🤮
