As you asked … In July 2022 I will order a rear diff-locker from Kaiser in Brazil. In December I will order a front one. - Why, you may ask… Because it takes the Jimny’s computer 4-5 full turns to understand that the All-Grip system needs to apply breaking to the spinning wheel in order to transfer torque to the stationary wheel. That’s far too slow/way too long a time in my opinion and, as it is slow reacting the car will lose all momentum. (Other vehicle brands does the same with way less rotation…) Adding diff lockers will improve the traction/grip at hard tracks/conditions without having to keep the momentum high. - Slow & controlled driving is the key when 4x4-ing. (Quite the opposite of F1… 😂)

Mine got dinged by my 5 y.o. niece playing with the seatbelt two days after I bought it. Fortunately it was on the passenger side B-Pillar, inside the door frame. I then had a punctured tyre 2 weeks later. My only other complaints are; * handling on Corrugated gravel roads with stock suspension * 30kg load limit on roof. (20kg if you want to go off-road) * 320kg tare weight with stock suspension I did get the Australian tow bar, knowing it could only handle 350kg unbraked, but I didn’t expect the towbar to reduce the exit angle quote so much. I should have just invested in rear recovery points instead.

In the USA we had a Older Suzuki Model called the Samurai which was similar to the older Jimny's you showed in Bali. The Suzuki Samurai was known for being top heavy and if you get into heavy winds while driving it could roll over. I would recommend a Roll Cage for the inside if your serious about doing 4x4 ing. Love all the Content somehow you managed to stay positive even after all the bad things that happened. Better luck in the future and I can't wait for more episodes. Much Love from California

It was NOT known for that. Consumer Reports fabricated rumors about that. Suzuki took CR to court and won. My uncle had one he bought new and kept for about a decade. He drove it like a maniac all the time and never had any tipping issues. It was a good, fun reliable and durable vehicle.

Greetings from Peru! We bought the same Jimny. It must be the 2 week curse, as I reversed into a road bollard and broke part of the rear light. Unfortunately you can't replace just the rear light lens...needs a whole replacement module. Also I slid into a ditch but fortunately no damage just embarrassing! Still learning when to turn on 4×4, as probably it might not have happened if I had it on, but it was bone dry at the time.

Hey Matylda. Don’t unfortunately know the name of the sensor alarm. We got it at Autotec. Maybe you can give them a call and ask for the type that is installed in the Jimny. As far as I am aware, it is just the standard car alarm. The sensor is inside the car but it picks up movement on the outside too. Pretty well actually. If you try to open the door or bump the window it will go off.

I’m super excited about this! I love 4x4s. I’m a jeep guy. In SA, I had my jeep and had a lot of fun. Can’t wait to see where you guys go and what mods you do to this car. I mean it is a SWB you out solid axles, not going to drive very well but it’s not terrible. Sorry to hear about the window, that’s terrible. I always left nothing in the jeep, unless it was under the seats so it was properly hidden. Alarm is a good idea, nice one. I can’t wait to see it with new suspension, tires and roof rack, maybe even bumpers.

All said … I will install a hidden switch in my car. A switch that breaks the ground electricity to the fuel pump. - Meaning, when the switch is turned in its ‘Off’ position the car won’t fire up no matter if the thief has the key or not. I highly recommend you do the same.

Saw a comment saying the Jimny is unsafe and can roll over. That is false. Some years ago a famous auto rating magazine in the USA, Consumers report published a completely article in the Jimny, saying it was unsafe and rolled. A law suite by Suzuki resulted in Consumers Report settling out of court for $60 million US. In actuality the Jimny was the safest 4 wheeler they tested. You can Google these facts or watch KZbin video that display the facts including videos of the test results of the Jimny. Consumers report destroyed Suzuki's business in the USA.

Hi guys, tat a great colour and I have the same colour too. Sad to saw what happen to your jimny. You have lots of mods to can do to your jimny and in South Africa they is lots of 4x4 Accessories. I have done ppf on my car to prevent any minor scratches and you can also do a windshield protection film if you install a new windshield so it will prevent such bad things happen again unless the other guy throws a hugh rock at you. I'm not sure if installing a rock slider will help to prevent other car doors from hitting to the car. As I'm waiting to install mine as it hard to get what I want here in Singapore so most of the stuff need to air freight in so its super costly.

I'm fortunate that I got one from earlier batches.

We’ve both always driven manuals so that was the main reason. A few other reasons: the Jimny’s fuel consumption is already high, automatic would make it higher. And automatic is slower than manual, and manual is already slowww

So sorry for what happened with the dent and then the window, this is enough to go nuts, however be positive and give the tsotsies a 'pokerface'.... Put smash & grab, do the real thing and it will be a challenge to smash a window, however put a after market alarm system in as well with a sensor to go 'maniac' when it picks up vibrations and movement of the vehicle, it is a pitty we need to bombproof everything in the country, also do not leave anything visible on the seats, dashboard, boot area.

I'm going with skid bars (aka rock sliders) under the doors. Let them smash their own door in if they can't be bothered to take more care. Skid bars also protect the body and trim from rubbing on rocks or other obstacles when you are driving in more extreme off road situations. Oh, and a dashcam. If you can show proof of someone speeding or driving dangerously and causing stone damage to your car, your insurance company will very often go after them. I had a case (Australia) where a guy coming the other way in a construction zone and speeding (BMW of course) caused the worst windscreen break I've had in over 40 years on the road. Insurance company were all over his arse. I don't know how well that will fly in SA. Welcome to new car ownership.

That's a nuisance about your car being broken in to. 😔 For those dots on the bonnet you might be best using a "clay bar" kit which is like slightly abrasive plasticine, it removes tar spots well and might work on those bonnet dots if they are tree sap. We're flying from the UK to Plett in 2 weeks. 😍
