Bummer. It was difficult, but I'm glad I waited for my 2023. My tundra is amazing.

I purchased a 22 1794 Edition w/ 6.5’ bed in June of 22. The production date was May 2022. I have a couple of QC issues involving wind noise from the RR door and an occasionally noisy driver's door gasket that sounds like tape being pulled off a smooth surface. In both cases, if you push a couple of fingers into the gasket the noise stops so it's definitely a gasket fitment issue. I had the dealer investigate at the 10K service. Told them if it's still there at the 15K they will have to replace those gaskets. No other QC issues. Been on some long trips with it. Very good ride and comfortable leather seats. Got 22 mpg with 4 people and 800 lbs of gear in the bed over elevations of about 2500 feet. Back home in mixed traffic, it gets between 18 and 19.5 mpg.

Glad to hear it! Thanks for sharing as I’m sure others have issues with it too. I had some of those gasket issues as well, not sure why they can’t get that right. Never had some of these issues with my older Toyotas.

Toyota really sucked on this … 16 years to produce something great, I will be purchasing a 2021 for all the reasons u stated… 2007-2021 seems like the truck to have
@MoeChins Жыл бұрын
same issues here but also have the squeaking seat, fuel gauge level moves even though they did the tsb it didnt fix it. 60k for a truck shouldnt have these little issues

I ended up getting a later in the year 2022 SR5. I dont feel like mine has as many fit & finish issues as others post about but maybe they tightened things up. I had a 2019 Silverado RST before it and I can definitely understand the quality of materials gripes and stuff. However, I had a 2016 Tundra SR5 before that Silverado and the bottomline is, I had to go back to Toyota! I missed the layout and Toyota feel. They just fit me ergonomically and like mentally how they lay things out. Don't know what youre going to but the SIlverado 2500s are EXCELLENT truck trucks that feel and are built the way maybe what truck guys are looking for. Even gas they have a ton of power ton of payload and they just feel like a truck should feel... so will be curious to see what you went to.

Sad to see such a quality brand name slip away. I owned 3 previous Tundras that were bullet proof. I am so glad I passed on this new model. Toyota needs to build the Tundra in Japan not the US. And bring the V8 back.
@BigAltimaEnergy719 Жыл бұрын
That’s never gonna happen due to the chicken tax still being in place.

Never going to happen because emissions. Plus I think there’s a law saying that cars need to average about 30 mpg by 2028 or something.

Bro, it's amazing. I have a 2019 with 104,000 mi on it and the fact that nothing rattles still is insane and I've done some serious off-roading with it. I tow 10,000 lb with it all the f****** time. I drive over 100 mph all the time with it not one issue

Designed and built in america. Hardly japanese besides the drivetrain. The quality is on par with american trucks

American workers do not take pride in their work compared to the Japanese. That's a Fact...

Not surprised that people are complaining that new Toyotas are the end of Toyota’s legendary reliability. When you build cars in America instead of Japan, you have things like this.
@dcl97 Жыл бұрын
I bought a Mexican made Tacoma against my better judgment and it was the biggest peice of shit I've ever owned. I had more issues with it in the first year than I did in 4 years with my ecoboost F-150, which itself is not exactly the pinnacle of reliability.

This is bs, they still have to meet their quality std. When they built the supra, the bmw engineers were mad about how many parts they had to reengineer for Toyota compliance

Ii bought a 22 GX for the same price as your Tundra. Love it, Never going to sell. I have an older Tundra, never going to sell it. I have two 4runners I'm never selling those either. Nothing on the current market interests me in the slightest. Would not buy a full size truck without a NA V8.

All I care about is that it’s mechanically sound and will not break down on me or cost me an arm and a leg for maintenance. These little annoying issues I. Can deal with . yes it should be better for 60 K . But what’s out there in comparison with ford, Gmail ram . Serious issues out there . Keeping my fingers crossed .

My Limited 2022 OR- NH/ was made in August- and besides the fuel line recall- the truck has ran perfect- no turbo lag - although I have found that warming up the oil makes a difference in optimal engine performance- minor wind noise at high rates of speed but nothing annoying- and nothing that I haven’t heard in other trucks costing similar $$$- the passenger seat was cracked at 16K ( but I bought the truck that way) and was replaced. It’s true- I had a TUNDRA 2007 - and the build on this 2022 is 2nd rate to the 2007- but all vehicles are running this way now. They don’t build them they way they used to:) also on the cracked seat… the problem is that people - even with running boards- still tend to SLIDE down the seat- this practice will break these cheap plastic seats for sure. I baby my truck and all my family gets a tutorial on how they are to vacate the truck using the running boards as they are meant to be used:)

Very plasticy, lots of rattles...jeep gladiator owner and i can relate. I drove a new 2023 chevy at the time before buying my glatiator. same cheap feeling built quality as well, creeky plastic etc. But non the less for what these new tundras (sr5) go for 10-15k less than a jeep and chevy, your getting quite the bang for the buck. Keyless entry, good powertrain,lockers,driver assist features.
