Hello What USB cable did you use? I can't make my D5100 Works with a USB Cable, i need to use HDMI capture device :( I installed Nikon Web Cam Utility and doesn't work.

Hello. The USB cable I used came with my camera. It’s a USB cable but for video not data. You can do a search on Amazon for USB cable for Nikon D5100. The Nikon Web Utility only worked on my MacBook Pro but not on my Windows PC. I hope this works. Thanks for the question.

Hi motocruz957. First, create a scene in OBS, 2) add a source and select “video capture” (I used a USB video capture device so OBS can detect the camera), 3) turn on the camera and click on the live view lever on the camera. From here you should see the live view of the camera on your computer. If you follow all the steps and nothing happens try a different mini HDMI cable. I hope this helps. Good luck with your setup.
