It’s week of The Hawk. You’re probably going to want to download this one whilst you can. It hasn’t been on KZbin for about a year and seeing as its Halloween I thought I’d reupload it with five new casket matches added. These include the three that have happened in aew. To be honestan opinion i have as a guy whos training to be a wrestler and also an opinion from my mates is that when taking any neck bump the level of trust you have in the other person is 100% the number 1 thing that makes it as safe as possible, bar knowing what to do obviously, and it is a testiment to any guy whos bigger built receiving it too :)

For some reason WWE had been terribly inconsistent with re-releasing their old Coliseum Videos over the years (not counting the UK Silvervision Tagged Classic DVD sets from years ago) but they did re-release a few like Andre (best of from 1985), Undertaker (the 1995 tape where the Lawler match is from) & even the 1992 Royal Rumble (or rather, they re-edited that PPV including promos from both the live broadcast & Coliseum tape hence why Hogan & Flair has two sets of promos on the DVD/Network version).

You know, it might have been interesting with the Big Show/Taker match in 2008. The idea of destroying the casket so you can't be thrown in there is a new concept that could have been played with. Say they were giving a big match with tons of spots, the crowd is hot, then Show just goes monster mode and just starts destroying Taker, to the point the crows is in shock. Then Show kills the casket, killing the gimmick that a casket is to be feared, then just walks out. Taker "wins" but now you have a big "holy shit, what just happened? Big Show is a monster". Now you have a huge push for Show that leads to a different match. The guy just won't be beat, and keeps walking out on matches not bothering to pin anyone because they are beneath him. Then you can finish it off with Hell in the Cell or something so he can't escape Taker now. I don't know, just brain storming. Then again, we are talking about Big Slow....

To be fair to the 2008 Mark Henry/Taker match, it wasn't put there for no reason. It was actually the WrestleMania Rewind edition of Raw, entirely dedicated to rematches of previous Manias. I'm not saying it was a *good* reason, but it was a reason.

Great video as a kid i though Casket matches were cool…. Now not so much it’s a great concept but, in North America nobody knows how to do any that’s special! The Lucha Underground matches are imo the best (They feel epic and larger then life) In Japan & Mexico these type of matches are also done on a much higher level W*ING, & Big Japan made Casket matches into these over the top WTF is going on moments! Just because a promotion has money doesn’t mean they know how to properly do a gimmick match) i went to a indie show in 96-97’ where they had a body bag match (For what it was it truly felt different) not sure if the guys ever broke but, both guys actually made the match feel HQ/real after the match the loser got put into a body bag (sold it beautifully) Then other wrestlers brought out a Coffin on wheels and dragged the loser in the body bag inside the Casket and rolled out of sight… (In the days of the Monday Night Wars Indie talent actually respected the business to have a mickey mouse small indie show to put so much care into making everything seem legit is something you don’t see enough now)

Undertaker vs Kama was a post event dark match. That's probably why it isn't on the network. They did those a lot for the In Your House PPVs. My guess is because they were only 2 hour PPVs they didn't want to shortchange the live crowd.
