love my fully loaded XC40 T4 FWD Rdesign with the 20 inch wheels here in the South of USA and been to many drive thru safari's and long road trips, and I find the ride and comfort exceptional! It's a great start to a Volvo Luxury segment

Hello from Sweden. Just a note on the keys. You always get three keys when buying a Volvo, *two black ones* and a red one (which is now replaced by an orange colored). The orange key is a so called "Care Key". _"Volvo Cars today reveals the Care Key, allowing any Volvo buyer to set a speed limit for themselves, their family members or friends. The Care Key will come as standard on all Volvo cars from model year 2021._ _The Care Key allows Volvo drivers to set limitations on the car’s top speed, before lending their car to other family members or to younger and inexperienced drivers such as teenagers that only just received their drivers’ licence."_ - Volvo Cars, Gothenburg, Sweden You can also use the orange colored key when you wish to share the car with someone who doesn't have a key. You put it in the glove box, lock the car and give a code to a family member, friend etc who can then use the Volvo app on their phone to open the doors and use the car as a "guest".

Sorry mate but in the U.S. you only get 1 black & 1 orange key fob…at least that’s all I was given with my 2021 XC40 I purchased last year.

@@derbscott2687 That's not right. I was in contact with Volvo Cars here in Sweden, you should definitely have two black keys and one orange key. It doesn't matter if it's Europe, USA or any other market. Three keys are standard. Contact your car dealer and talk to them. Send an e-mail to Volvo Cars Sweden, here in Gothenburg, they will help you.

I'm intrigued by your comment about 3 keys. I'm in UK and I waited six months (Sept 21 to Jan 22 for my XC40 R-Design. There are some changes I wasn't expecting from the model I test drove. There's no R-Design designation anywhere (boot/trunk or side rear panels; no R-Design steering wheel designation. And definitely only TWO keys, 1 black and 1 orange. I feel I've been shortchanged, or perhaps because of chip shortage and covid situation Volvo have been cutting corners and cutting down specs? I feel rather short changed. I feel I could have saved thousands by buying the Momentum and getting someone to spray the roof black!

Unless they changed the suspension and steering tuning for 2022, this is the first review that I've seen that doesn't mention that the XC40's ride is a bit too firm for its segment and that the steering is vague.

So the XC40 actually has a setting where you can change the steering feel in the infotainment (make it more or less responsive). A lot of reviews don't show this and possibly that's new or they weren't aware of it. As far as ride quality, I find that it absorbs bumps fairly well (probably not best in class, but still pretty smooth). Note I came from a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited so everything feels smooth to me. :)

Yes, you can get it in the "interior lighting package". And it's really nice too.

@DUNYADAN BIR INSAN Here in Sweden it is called "Interior Lighting, level 2" I have no idea what this feature is called abroad. I am sure you will get help if you e-mail or visit a Volvo dealer where you live.

I wouldn’t buy this car again. As an owner half the features don’t work as expected. The whole ownership experience has been less than desirable and not what you would expect from a higher end brand. The whole technology behind the car is very immature, I would go with another brand.

@@mnapier1142 Apple or Android Car Play is still missing. When I first accepted delivery on the car Satellite radio did not work, nor did the charging app. I had to go to the dealer for a day in order to get updates. Mind you the car had 258 miles on it and I spent a day at the dealer. The car isn't even smart enough to pause bluetooth when you use that for audio so it just chimes in over whatever your listening too. The Google voice attendant is almost impossible. It drives awesome so you get that, but really all the electric cars are probably rockets like this.
