What are your final thoughts on the wideout? I’m torn between a wide out or v plow with wings. We do commercial and residential
@shawnkinney7172 жыл бұрын
9.2 boss dxt with wings is 11’ . That’s hard to beat
@JohnDiMartino2 жыл бұрын
@@shawnkinney717 they don’t retract,it’s illegal to transport over 8’6” wide without an over width permit which requires separate insurance. If you run anyway over width and clip a car you run a good chance of getting sued. The snow ex or fisher 8611 plows transport at 8’6” and open to 11 foot. V plows stack great power plows are much better for production plowing big lots. I had 2 Vs sold them for blizzard power plows, no regrets and it cut my salt usage considerably the power plows scrape much better. If you punch deep snow into driveways and stacking height is important to you ,the V is the way to go. I prefer a v plow on a truck that’s used primarily for salting as both sides tight to the truck make maneuvering in lots .easier

@@JohnDiMartino you have some valid points but in scoop mode their both 9.6’ feet wide but the vplow can carry more. If theirs an advantage on big lots, it would be windrowing with the power plow and that’s about it. VPlow with wings can carry more in scope mode. Just remember a vplow can do all things a power plow can but a power plow can’t do all things a vplow can. We’re debating Apples to apples here and you pretty much can’t go wrong with either.

Wideouts great until year 3 when you have to rebuild wing cylinders… do it for a municipality now I hate these plows maintenance hogs!!! Get a pro plus with bolt on wings instead. Trust me
@Dirt.doctor2 жыл бұрын
Definitely wide out I don’t see the point of the v plow it’s not getting you any extra push so why not go wider

We're switching everything over to Western when the time comes to replace or buy new, we have all Fisher now except my Wideout XL but just hooking them up is so much easier then our Fishers. Insurance is buying me a new one this coming spring, I wonder what the upgrades are.
@randyhaumschild27912 жыл бұрын
is the fisher built a little tougher ?
@jandblawncare85702 жыл бұрын
@@randyhaumschild2791 They're all built very well. Fisher plows have a trip edge and Western plows are a full trip plow but my biggest reason is hooking them up, the Western's are much easier for me but both are solid plows.

@@jandblawncare8570 I'm hoping western/Douglas dynamics will offer the wideout sysyem on their V plows soon. 12ft plow with all that height could carry some serious snow.

Or maybe douglas dynamics will start offering the wideout system on their V plows. You could get a 12ft plow with all that height and carry a ton of snow.

I fail to understand why, after blading off a few rows, that your don't choose to turn a tight circle, adjust the angle of your blade and plow the other way back to cut your time. This seems to put additional pressure on your transmission to go backward and then forward over and over again. You'd never cut a lawn that way, would you? I've also seen a YT snow guy make an absolutely clean sweep of a large church parking lot by simply plowing in large arcs. He leaves no rills whatsoever, and he may even spend less time doing it than what we're seeing you do here. I do not speak from any personal experience of having this kind of business, but it just seems to me that you're wasting time and fuel by plowing one long pass, only to stick it in reverse and drive backwards the entire length of the lot you're servicing without removing any snow at all.
@Wcanada3177 Жыл бұрын
Can't just put snow anywhere. Forward reverse is always faster then doing loops.
