This video is no longer up, so not sure what was covered in it. But I was wondering if you hold down the helm and logo light button if it may give you an option to adjust the brightness. And no you can not have blue lights that are visible. Blue lights are what is the worldwide color for law enforcement vessels. That’s why you see USCG and other law enforcement only having blue.

I went to dealer to inspect my 27SD today. I just want you to know watching your thorough 2 hour video not only helped me find hull imperfections to get fixed but the cup holder drain issue as well. The dealer gave a very quick orientation so I am extremely thankful that you were so detailed in your review. I have watched it more than once.

Thanks for showing us your boat. You seem to really like it. That audio speaker interference seems to bother you, you can have an audio technician install some (filtering, grounding, and shielding) on the wires to lessen it. A bit of solar on top of the hard top would be nice for this boat. I would remove the commode, brackets,and shelving in that small room and use it for storage.

I appreciate the great video. I pick up this same boat tomorrow from dealer. I’ve watched several time and actually made a check list for pick up. So thanks for the detailness of the video and your time making it. Which wax product did you clean with ? Do you have the part number for the cover ? Any luck with a front Bimini cover ? Anything else you can recommend ?

I use the "Hot Sauce" boat cleaner. It removes water spots with ease and leaves the surface smooth like wax. It's a simple spray and wipe process. As far as cover, dealer has a genuine Yamaha cover. I haven't found a bimini for the front yet that mounts without drilling holes. Talk to dealer about installing a power switch for the amplifier otherwise you will always hear a hissing sound from the speakers when ignition is ON and no music is playing. My dealer installed it on the cockpit display mount (behind the display on the right). so it is not visible, but I can simply reach between the display and the windshield and flip it up if I want to listen to the music. I also added a second house battery. There's enough space for it. Congratulations on your new boat!👍

One thing you can probably do if you haven’t added a second house battery is install a solar panel onto the roof. That way it is constantly giving a trickle charge to the house battery. Or get a folding one and lay it out when you guys are out somewhere. Also for the fire extinguishers you must make sure they are USCG approved and it has to be printed on the fire extinguisher.

This is just great! I've owned a 2014 Yamaha from new and I learned several details about them from this video that had simply never been mentioned before. He has the dimensions memorized, too! I guess with such a big boat that is pretty important. It's a beautiful boat and I wish I could justify upgrading to one, but I think the size is just a bit too much for me. I don't have a huge crew to haul around and space for storage is always an issue. I'm surprised that you can't lower the hard top at all, though I'm sure that would have added a lot of cost.

So my boat finally arrived. I'm just going over it. I noticed the anchor bay hole at the bottom. The drain port is outside the boat but looks to be what I would consider below the water line. I know you touched on that somewhere but can't remember. Is that normal?

@@tiverton I just don't get that. I mean you run on lakes but I'm on Gulf of Mexico and could potentially be in 2 to 3 foot waves and just don't understand how that design works and would keep the anchor locker from filling. But I trust your judgment on this. Thanks

We figured about 14 adults. Legally there's no limit because of the yatch class. We looked at Scarab, but picked Yamaha not because of the price, but because of its more classical visual appearance. So the answer to the second question is yes.

Sorry for all the questions but just curious if when you are washing boat on inside if you get alot of wetness to carpets in front bow seat storage compartments. Even with them closed and low pressure I get alot in them. Not sure why exactly

I don't really wash the inside. After every day at the lake,, I wipe the inside plastics with "Hot Sauce" boat cleaner. I do the same on the outside. The vinyl seats, trim and floor mats I wipe with vinyl cleaner Crazy Clean I picked up at West Marine. I don't get water in any compartments.

Was curious if your dealer pointed out all the scrapes to you and set up appointment to correct under warranty for you or not. I am waiting on my 2022 27SD as well but live a good ways from the dealer. The thought of having to trailer it back to them to have something like that taken care of is troublesome. Loved the review though. Definitely the best I have seen and feel like I could skip the one from the dealer when the time comes lol. Enjoy.

I noticed scratches only after I brought it home. By then it was useless to contact them. They would say that I did it. Check your boat thoroughly during delivery.

You should talk to the dealer. They'll be able to answer everything. I financed through Yamaha the entire amount (boat+tax+trailer+dealer prep+shipping fees+extended warranty) minus $1000 initial deposit when I ordered the boat. At the time it was 2.99% fixed for 20 years. (~$1400/mo) Obviously we will pay it off much faster.

I had a jetski that went 80 mph. I had my share of speed rush on water. We rarely go over 30 in this boat. The fuel consumption doubles from 30 to 50 mph. The fuel tank holds $450 of fuel. At 30 that's about 4 hours of fun, at 50 less than 2 hours.

Would you mind showing me how they ran the drain tube for the cup holder that is over the storage area in the main cabin area. I sound vague but I can't remember which side it was on. Only that it was the side that has the white wood box in the storage hold. I want to say on starboard side but not sure. My salesman said that bc the tube would have to go.so far, it might not drain properly. So I was curious how they did yours.

Yes, right side. It simply drains to the bottom of that storage compartment. Water from all storage components eventually flows to one of 3 areas: 1. underfloor ski locker, which then drains to bilge 2. Deck, which drains to the back through opening in the floor. 3. Engine compartment which drains to bilge as well.

Oh, yeah, and the anchor locker has its own drain that drains overboard to the right front side of hull. There is a white hole there in the video at 3:19 just above the spare tire on the trailer.

MSRP. There were people in line behind me, so no negotiations. Trailer was $9000 Delivery, from factory to Vegas was $5000. + dealer prep and water delivery which included full tank of fuel $2500 + doc and registration + tax. We also purchased 4 extra years of warranty. Giving us total of 5 years. ($3800) Yamaha offers 6 year financing at 2.99% 15 year at 4.99% and 20 year at 5.99% We went with middle option and 0 down on entire amount. Comes up to about 1400 a month.

I would. Just to be safe. Yamaha makes it so simple to flush the cooling system. With practice it will only take a few minutes.

Beautiful boat but for the price that Yamaha is selling these for I would look at a Regal 28 Express. I personally own a 2019 Yamaha 242X and love it. I just don't understand why Yamaha this boat. I would think once you get past 24' you would want a cruiser.

The allen wrench port next to the fuel fill is the vent for the fuel tank. Should be open a bit while engines are running. Great video!
