@SOCALMOTOBROS Жыл бұрын
I think as long as you take your time and have self control that you could definitely learn on a mt09. It has all the safety features and plenty of power to keep you happy.

Just watched a video where a guy full throttles 1st and gets it up to 45 50° and he said the bike wouldnt go back any further so sounds fool proof. Tankslapmoto the channel name

@@SOCALMOTOBROS Even though it's fool proof. It's scary when it suddenly gets up to 40-45. My hand just automatically closes the throtle. Got to practice more ) Did you have a chance to powerwheelie MT09 in second gear? Cannot pull a beautiful wheelie yet.
@SOCALMOTOBROS2 жыл бұрын
Ya after I tuned the bike it comes up even faster so now I have to learn how to do them all over again. I’ve done a few second gear power wheelies and they’re a lot smoother than the first gear wheelies.

I am at the point when I am in love with 2nd gear clutch up wheelies. Bringing bike up faster without increasing the speed too much - allows me to wheelie longer. Quickshifter allows shifting to 3rd gear when in a wheelie. I love the mt09. Took me from no wheelies to decent wheelies in like 2-3 months.

I checked this video out because im considering buying a 22 or 23 MT09 maybe even the SP. I was happily surprised to see that R6 I have the exact same one 04. Good luck with your channel. O by the way im no pro either but quick question are you guys clutching those wheelies or just power wheeling?? sounds like power wheelies.
@SOCALMOTOBROS2 жыл бұрын
You should definitely get one and that’s awesome that you have an R6 like this one. Those are just power wheelies.
@jeff06052 жыл бұрын
@@SOCALMOTOBROS Hey I never write comments so I was stoked to see you replied. Yeah not sure if you have ever clutched wheelies but I started out doing power wheelies. I got fair at that and was a little scared to clutch but after trying it I found it to be less aggressive. I liked 2nd and 3rd gear pretty smooth. anyway just throwing it out there. again good luck with your channel and thanks again for reaching out.
@SOCALMOTOBROS2 жыл бұрын
@@jeff0605 We try to reply to everyone cause without our viewers our channel wouldn’t exist. Thank you for your support and we appreciate you watching and commenting. With the MT-09 it’s nice cause you don’t really need to do clutch ups but it would be better for a longer more consistent wheelie and I plan to try that in the future and for the R6 it would definitely do better wheelies doing clutch ups.

I just bought a 2023 model and can't wheelie it. All modes are set at 1. Is it because I'm still in the break in period?
@SOCALMOTOBROS Жыл бұрын
I don’t believe they limit power during break in period. It could just be that your not at the right rpm and it’s stock. You wanna get on throttle and higher in the rpm range and then let off throttle and hammer it and it should lift.

I have 2022 MT09 platform (T9gt) and honestly am not impressed with the lift control. Since it has 6 axis IMU and its fancy computer I think it ought to be capapble of really high wheelies with virtually no possibility of looping ....in fact I cant see any reason why modern bikes cant just execute and hold wheelies at will! There is a company in San Diego a while back that had rigged some bikes to do exactly that and were offering sessions to riders to safely experience wheelies ....As I recall the bikes were Triumph Triples? Would be so awesome to have that map or whatever it is on my bike and just clutch up wheelies with abandon trusting the bike's tech to not it loop over! I mean it HAS everything needed right? The IMU along with throttle by wire (example is cruise control) there is no reason it cant be set up to allow sick wheelies on and on as long as one keeps the beans poured on! The tech would just keep things in hand via ignition chop or throttle.....heck the 2023 T9 is supposed to be electronically applying front/rear brakes to maximum advantage even if the rider only applies one or the other! So tech MIGHT even be able to auto apply rear brake to prevent looping! I know it is totally doable even if it requires aftermarket.....Id pay 500 or whatever in a heartbeat LOL ....would be a hoot!

After riding my mt09 for almost a year now I’ve been able to wheelie the bike extremely high. I have a video coming up that showcases how high the bike can lift with lift control.
@bosk1n Жыл бұрын
45 degrees max I think. But that's more than enough for me now. Probably will practice few more months before I gully disable wheiw control. But I really like the idea of auto applying rear brake when bike is looping. I think that's the best setting that can be there, and I am sure we have all the tech we need for that.
@dougiequick1 Жыл бұрын
IMHO the BEST motorcycles to learn and practic wheelies would have spot on torque /gearing/weight distribution and whatever else dramatically affects things so that you can literally just shift weight and power the front wheel into the air then with spot on fueling be able to balance it with throttle modulation alone. I believe the manufacturers deliberately stopped marketing models that could do this off the showroom floor but for example early examples of the Honda XL600R could make any half decent rider look like a wheelie pro in no time....that bike I could literally wheelie at will even shifting through the gears while lofted ....most other bikes? No all I could do was loft for a while until I ran out of acceleration ....see with the right motor/fueling it all becomes a function of the throttle rather than unicycle type talent required otherwise....But if you can wheelie a bicycle endlessly they you can wheelie most motorcycles forever too once you get it up....even lame bikes to wheelie can be clutched up if that is the case.,,,me? I never could do endless wheelies on a bicycle so neither could I on MCs UNLESS they were bikes like the Honda XL600R ....I also later had a Honda XR650R that wheelied well EXCEPT that it was scary as hell compared to the much more docile XL600...The XR fekt like it would loop you on your head with one mistake....same on my CR500 race bike. Also same with fast 100 plus HP crotch rockets like gixxers ....yes easy to loft but scary to hold it....Whether wheelies are easy to master and fun to practice is very much up to which motorcycle you have if anyone says different they are either so bloody good they lost perspective on mere mortals OR (more likely) they are full of crap

If you are trying to learn to pull wheelies and haven't mastered it yet a year after posting, turn off the lif control stuff. It's a safety net not a skill builder. Good to get acclimated to the riding position when the bike is up so LIF is good for that as you mentioned. Biggest thing is do not chase it. Clutch it not throttle it. High speed wheelies are dangerous. That's why group stunt rides usually are moving at only about 35-40 mph. You'll know you are at the balance point when you are controlling your wheelie with your rear brake and only using your throttle to maintain speed not balance. Best of luck!
