13:58 Mate, what? How on Earth does the Street Triple has more advanced electronics than this MT-09 SP? This has cruise control and an IMU with cornering ABS and lean-sensitive traction control; the Street Triple lacks both the IMU and the cruise control. What am I missing?

I brought the standard 2021 09 yesterday. I have to say its unbelievable what a machine. The QS is so smooth. The throttle response is fantastic. Amazing bit of kit

@@chriswest2290 well I part exchanged it for a MT10 after 11 months. I've always wanted a 10. Just had to wait to get the correct one. Long story lool The MT09 was absolutely amazing. Loved it. Has all the rite power you need for the road. Loads of electronics to play with. Can't really complain to be fair..

Great review, thanks Boothy. Just as you mentioned about the pink houses, you passed where I work! Houses round here are painted with "Suffolk Pink" It comes from adding things to the limewash, to coat the house with this traditional pink came from adding pigs blood.

I remember from forums that the MT09 was limited in 5th and 5th, you could get an aftermarket ECU flash to remove the limit and it would give you more top end, but having ridden an MT09 at 200+ kmh i dont think the bike feels comfortable or planted at that speed.

I just test rode one- it's far better than the last couple generations but it still has a relatively vague front end to me. Loads better, but still behind other models. Everything else was awesome!

There's one thing which really, really bugs me about the updated MT09 and that's the front headlight + assembly, need to see some aftermarket solutions to make a final call but I couldn't love that face as is which makes it a no-buy for me.

How is the street triple RS have better electronics than the MT? The RS doesn’t even get an IMU it’s a just a standard TC & ABS, also street triple doesn’t get any cruise control, the rest is pretty same I guess maybe on the equipment it a gets a slight edge over the MT with the Showa BPF fork, Öhlins STX shock also the full Brembo kit M50 with MCS19 master cylinder.

I’ve tried both. RS is track ONLY, if that’s your only thing you want it for, then go for it. MT09! If you want an all rounder, comfortable,reliable, fast, easy and FUN bike! MT09 has the better electronics… 6axis IMU stands out! And the WAY the IMU interacts with the rider is SMOOTH. MT09 has more power and tq everywhere except 10,000rpm + Ride both. Bet you buy a MT09SP.

Am I remembering correctly that everyone would say the first gen (FZ09) was a fast beast but just felt unstable? I remember it being described as "scary" definitely fun, but really scary. The newer ones appear to be amazing! I had a non abs FZ07 and loved it. This newer MT09 sounds pretty close to perfect.

Looks like a full exhaust and ECU flash would wake it up, get rid of the pesky speed limiter. Sounds pretty rad. Switchgear looks super good. Display is better than the wonky asymmetric former. Suspension is definitely a step up. Vastly improved throttle control, buy the trained ear and looks by your riding. E-cruise control is a godsend in any rider's world. +/- QS is technology to never go back on. Yamaha says 4 or 5 mpg better. Power and torque are both up. Lighter weight wheels are always better (traction, tire wear, handling, steering, agility). People didn't have an issue getting past the polarizing and "different" looks since 2014, they won't have trouble this time around. Besides, full LED lighting is a plus. IMU, adjustable everything, the safety features built in and benefiting from the years of R1 track tuning. I think it's a very worthy successor to my 2018 non-SP model. If this wasn't so tempting, I'd go with a Z900 and tune it up.

Try riding one with the rider aids off and keeping the front wheel down lol Yamaha should bang that engine in a super sport bike like an Aprillia 660 or Ducati super sport, would be a proper street weapon! On twisty roads I would put a lunatic on one of these against anything lol 👍

Lol Thats Mototechniks in Stowmarket. There is a motorcycle training centre there called academy of motorcycling where I did my CBT, Mod1 and 2 A licence. Passed first time hardly any faults. Highly recommended.

Test rode the previous one with a bunch of bling on it. Like a full Ti system, flashed, and Willwood rearsets and bars. Fantastic motor. Awesome motorcycle. Do not need anything more, power wise, for the road. Me personally? Just prefer the XSR looks wise. Great vlog.
