Having a look at the rider fit and ergonomics of Yamaha's new R7, focusing on seat height, seat-bar-pegs triangle, comfort, locking into the bike and more, with a 180 cm rider, with 32 inch inseam.

I love how I can watch a youtuber whos got the same height as me, so I can picture myself in detail riding my dream bikes

I can relate to that. I'm the same height and inseam as The Missenden Flyer. I'm also a 32 inch inseam, so I have that in common with Moto Journo Kris.

Perfect review, I am 6'3 with a 34 inch inseam and I am looking for a super sports bike that is LAMS that I can start on and Ive thought about smaller bikes but I see myself riding for a long time and considering my height, style of bike I desire and my end goal, the R7 looks like the best bike for me, thank you for a well rider fit & ergonomics video review it has helped me with my decision.

Man really appreciate your work. One thing that I would like is if you had a friend that was a little shorter and a friend a little taller than you to also sit on the bikes you review.

Thanks! That's a good idea, I'll have to see whether I can manage it. Normally I'm riding alone when I do a lot of the video stuff, as there's so much time standing around talking to the camera, it's a bit boring for anyone else.

I’m 6’5 with a 39” inseam. Would this bike be way to small?
@MotoJournoKris
@MotoJournoKris Жыл бұрын
There's a bit of room to move back on the seat compared to how I'm sitting on it in the video, which should offer some additional room for a taller rider, but I'm not sure to be honest!

I’m. 6’1 with 34 waist size pants weighing 200lb. You think I’ll be still comfortable? I sat on one at dealership it felt comfortable. Just don’t know how it be as a daily driver to work and back and weekends fun time with it.

It's a bit relative. I'd say the R7 is a fair bit more comfortable than all the pure supersport 600s, and should be a much nicer thing to ride in traffic, however obviously it's no nakedbike! Commuting on a sportsbike is fairly subjective though, and there might be a bit of an acclimatisation period. Part of that depends on what your commute looks like. More highway or flowing roads, less stuck in traffic not able to move (or even filter) is preferable, as with all bikes. Sportsbikes are just the most punishing in the worse conditions.

Do you think me being 6’4 I could ride this bike comfortably
@MotoJournoKris
@MotoJournoKris 2 жыл бұрын
We talking supersport/superbike comfort, or general comfort. I'd say it's fairly normal for a supersport, all of which are quite compact with a smaller rider triangle. With a 32 inch inseam I found it good and quite comfortable in that comparison. But obviously compared to a nakedbike, tourer or ADV it'll struggle to compete on comfort, especially if those are what you prefer.

For a 173cm guy do u think its alright, as far as the reach of the foot to the ground ?
@MotoJournoKris

Do you know your inseam by any chance, that's the best guide. It's narrow for the seat height which really helps and I'd imagine you'd get most of at least one foot down, but that's a bit of a guess.

6,4 86kg and a massive fitness fanatic. I’ve had it for about a week and it takes a bit of getting used to. Any uturns and you’re trying not to smash your knees on the bars. Probably the smallest bike you’d feel reasonable on

I only had the bike for a few weeks, but didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. It's not as forgiving as a nakedbike, but wasn't punishing the way some sportsbikes are.

I have a feeling you'd have to shift across the seat quite a bit to get a foot down flat on one side.
