It's a beautiful song - so many oddball chords in it, and the rhythms of the keyboards and the bass line, and the harmonies! Amazing! And he still sounds amazing singing it in the ORIGINAL KEY!

Wow, he killed it. Probably the best vocal performance he's done of this song (That I've seen on youtube anyway) since the Chicago 19 tour in 1989. He looked so comfortable and nailed the notes better than ever. Maybe cuz he wasn't on a long 60-80 city tour not sure but still this was really great. Thanks for posting this.

I didn’t realize how young he still is. Well, young compared to other people in group of the era. You may as well call this a 40 year old song. 38 close to 39, so 40 is close enough. He was really young in 1986 to be fronting Chicago. The band was probably older than he was. I’m not a huge Chicago fan. I know of some of the older songs, but mainly like the 80’s ballads that were hits on the radio when I was a kid. It seems that Chicago is more of a business than a band. The name is established and they replace members as needed. Are there any original members left anymore? They really made this guy sound like Peter Cetera on the recording. I always though it was Peter cetera back then. I was 10 years old, so cut me some slack.

Bill and Jason resuscitated Chicago's career. Don't get why they get thrown so much shade. Jason sounds great here.

I'm very impressed that he still sounds so good, almost better than when he was younger, and still singing this song in the same key as it originally was recorded. I thought he was pushing his range when it came out, but he's still hitting all the notes and they sound great. The only thing missing is Bill s voice, or whatever his name is. His smokey bluesy voice sounded good. I'm not a huge Chicago fan, but I do like the 80's pop love song hits. This song, you're the inspiration, and Glory of Love. I know Peter sang those 2 other songs and glory of love wasn't Chicago. It was solo Peter Cetera, but It sounded like Chicago. As far as I know glory of love was Peters only big hit without Chicago. Jason almost sounds like Peter in the studio version of this song. For a long time I thought it was Peter. I was just a kid when these songs came out so I didn't know who was who. I just knew that they were good, almost power ballads.

not bad for a 1986 song love the keyboards pretty close to the original. Cetera had quit the group in 1984 'Im tired of being a front man for Chicago."

@@davewalkeden6932 no, but the other guy in Chicago the piano/keyboard player, I can’t recall his name right now, I’m not a massive Chicago fan, he said the same exact thing. So if he’s saying too I’d say that’s about as good as it gets with someone else with the same opinion. The interview where he says it it on KZbin. I’m not wasting my time trying to find the link. Since think it’s so funny, you can look for it to prove it to yourself.

Of course he's gonna big his fucking band mate up. I don't need to prove anything to myself by watching some lame video. I'm blessed with ears that work, a pretty solid music background, and perfect pitch. But for arguments sake, I listened to it again, through good quality headphones, and it sounded worse. Lots worse. All nasally. And definitely outta tune in places.....🤔

@@Cr16604 F double sharp was usually a G, according to the theory I was forced to learn more than 45 years ago. And perfect pitch is no biggie. Hardly makes me a virtuoso. Just means I hear things differently to most other people..... 😉

Much respect to both singers, however.
