2023 2024 2025 Honda CR-V LX Vehicle Settings

Awesomely useful video! I'm now a subscriber. Something new CR-V LX owners (like me) need to keep in mind: the hatchback door that comes with the LX trim must be lifted and closed by hand. The LX does not have a power open for that door though it does have hydraulic lift assist once someone starts lifting it open. Unfortunately, that lift assist can give be a workout for someone with low upper body/arm strength. One trick to overcome this is to grab the hatchback door with both hands, lock one's arms in place, then bend one's knees to use body weight to help lower the door. I've seen an elderly woman in her 80s do this.

I dont like how thses trims dont get the navigation option like the exl or touring trims do . I cant even find a compass on mine. If there is a way to see the compass on these lower trims please let me know because i am unable to find it.

There could be a setting under Vehicle-> Meter-> Trip A or B

Google AI says my new 2025 CR-V LX does not have "walk away automatic lock," but should have "unlock when you grab the driver’s door handle". Well, it doesn't. Didn't see it as an option in Settings neither. Went back to Honda where I bought the car a month ago. Sales manager looked it up: No, these features not available on LX trim.

BIG QUESTION: How do I unlock the car if the 12V battery is dead??? Seems impossible, as the key lock is just an electrical switch, not an actual mechanical lock.

@qwaqwa1960 There's a key 🔑 inside the fob. Under the driver door handle, there's a keyhole. This will allow you to get inside the vehicle if the car battery or fob battery is dead.

Hi Chris, super helpful video. I just bought a CR-V LX this month. I have one question, can I open the tailgate with the key fob? Does LX have the feature of opening it remotely? I tried pressing or holding the button, the door was unlocked but didn't open by itself. Looking forward to your answer!

This is a great common question that we sometimes forget to share. So the trunk button on the fob is to unlock the hatch while keeping the other doors lock. Thank you for watching

I just bought a 2025 EXL. I don't seem to have the Systems setting on the dashboard. All the other settings are there. Also, do you have to set up the system separatly if there are two keys? Thank you for your help.

You have a light that comes on if cold (blue) or hot (red)

@@CrazyHondaChris-H18 yes, but for some people, we need more. I’m currently moving to an extreme cold environment and it would be nice to see if my car was operating at the optimum temperature. Having come from Texas, sometimes it is nice to see if your car is running slightly above normal temps to try to fix and issue before it is a real issue.

It would be within the driver's interface for resetting trip "A'" and "B". I believe you can see that on the walkaround video.

A bit off-topic, but I just figured out how to remove a front headrest! The mount without a button has a slot. Stick a screwdriver in there and you can pull off the headrest. Yay. They couldn't be bothered to put that in the manual??? Pathetic.

Very nice. Why buy a car for $40 grand when they all rot/corrode underneath from water, salt, dust anyway at 100,000 miles. My Versa just rotted away at 115,000 miles--bushing rotted--$1200 job--it was junked. Versa was great car BTW--$16 grand cost. Now you should pay $20 grand for a new Korean car if smart to last about 110,000 miles, no rot.

Mostly unnecessary. Some interesting, useful things--wake up if falling asleep, green light for wasting gas. In general older cars better with manual keys--life too short to spend on this nonsense, particularly when Cabal is destroying planet, the purpose of excessive involuntary electronics.
