I agree with last comment on BSM. I currently own a 2020 CRV (EX-L) and could not imagine it without BSM. I know the body style has changed a little, but the blind spot on mine is HUGE. I understand Honda has to remove stuff to get the price down, but that is a safety feature and should be on EVERY car they, and other car makers, make.

I mean older cars don’t have it and many people are more than capable to drive safely. You just have to take extra precautions. Yes it’s nice to have BSM but it’s not a need. You should be able to drive without it under any circumstance. Driving is a big responsibility don’t leave it to just the car.

My 2017 Mazda 3 has BSM and I wouldn’t buy a new car without it. It’s not for the 99/100 times that you see everything around you when making a lane change, it’s for the one time that you don’t. My BSM has saved me from potentially serious accidents in the seven years I’ve had my car and it’s a must for me in new vehicles. My wife has a 2012 Civic without BSM, and of course I can still drive it safely. BSM just makes avoiding accidents that much easier.

Yes I was at the dealership and they sell sport model with "B" meaning blind spot missing due to chip shortage. The guy said some people do not want. Honda is very tricky.

LX appears to be a good value, especially with Adaptive Cruise included. The windows can always be tinted all around for about $300 but...those wheels: several years down the road, the black painted wheels will start to rust (unless your car is always washed/garaged). It'll look like crap and some of the gray paint will scuff off of those wheel covers too.

I still feel this has too many features. I wouldn't be a verse to taking out the power, mirrors, the power, windows, etc. And making a DX model. Something where reliability is put above everything else, even to the point of having a naturally aspirated 2 L engine instead of the turbo 1.5. 1.5. that I would buy if it was a DX naturally aspirated no turbo, no hybrid manual mirrors, and fully analog gauges. Even if it had a two speaker sound system just in the front. I make it about 22 or 23,000

Got a 2024 lx model and happy with it. Don't need to pay extra for stuff I don't want or use. Don't want sunroof, but BSM would have been nice to have. Like that windows are not tinted. I can get local tint shop to do for less $ & guaranteed. This is a good point A to B suv. Lots of accessories can be found for far less than dealers. Not OEM, but gets the job done. I think fairly quiet & smooth ride. Priced fair & my dealer took 2000 off MSRP + a 750$ honda rebate due to honda loyalty plan. + got great trade in, so very happy with the final price for a very good entry level of a great suv.

@juicyj1188 I ended up not liking it. The 1.5 is a bad engine. Great gas mileage, but under powered, oil dilution they can't fix & common blown head gaskets. Expensive repair if not under warranty. Traded in for a Mazda cx5. LOVE that car. Never getting another Honda or Toyota. They have that cvt, that also doesn't last & Expensive repairs. Should have switched to Mazda long ago. Made in Japan, 6 speed automatic, more options that are included, better layout & upscale materials used.

I had a 2016 civic ex, 2019 civic hatchback ex and I currently have a 2022 CRV exl. I loved all the features of the ex, more options than most car companies for a comparable trim. To get a moonroof heated seats and remote start you would have to go to a higher trim level. And my car insurance was cheaper the more safety features you have. The only reason I went up to the exl is because I have 2 kids now and I need leather seats so I can wipe them off 😂

In Canada, lx has a remote start, keyless entry, and heated seats. Also $1.5k cheaper than in the US. I'm driving it few days and it’s an amazing car with all that features (Honda sensing)🎉

It's a shame that they don't offer an upgraded sound system as a standalone option. Everything else about these base trims is pretty great. What really bothers me, though, is the lack of LX and EX hybrids. Practically speaking the attractiveness of a hybrid is spending less on fuel... who wants to blow all that saved cash on car payments instead?

We have the 2017 LX AWD and love the 2.4 liter with the CVT trans. The 2.4 feels perfectly matched with just the right amount of torque. The 1.5 liter turbo with the CVT doesn't impress me. What will make the CVT last longer is being easy on the hard acceleration. Keep up on servicing of the transmission.

5:28 one thing you missed that Honda doesn't tell you, is that the tail light accents (the little "L" or "J" shaped interior portion) only light up on EX and above. LX does not illuminate. I was a little annoyed because it's a change that seems unnecessary imo. But the accents only illuminate as tail lights, the brake lights on all trims is just the larger outer lights. Also, on my 2025 LX at least, the rear glass is tinted now

At 18:10 you mention that the 1.5L turbo engine is the same as the last Generation. That generation had a problem with gasoline smells in the cabin, because the high pressure fuel pump forced gasoline past the rings of the pistons and into the motor. In turn the oil was diluted and you could smell gasoline when you unscrewed the oil fill cap. this was referred as to have "made oil", because the oil level would increase over time. Is this really the same 1.5L Turbo engine?

@@dreadlord76 Problem usually starts to show after 60 thousand miles at some point, and some reference around 80,000. The problem is most likely the seals breaking down or not designed to handle the pressure of the fuel injection... Now with this car, you can choose not to use the Eco mode and will, I think, reduce the risk of that. Do expect however to keep a very close eye on it and get the necessary repairs done before it becomes a serious issue .

I'm used to the Shoulder check, looking 2-3 cars ahead, using passenger seat as support to turn my back and checking rear and cracking the door open and checking rear. Really idiotic of Honda to remove the BSM from these trims. I get it, times are tough with the chip and parts shortages across the globe, but you would think they would remove an accessory feature and not a safety feature… In a smaller car I can see how not having BSM is somewhat acceptable with smaller pillars and more visibility in the blind spots, but not on a family SUV. I mean, they should throw in physical blind spot mirrors or convex mirrors instead of doing nothing. Aside from that, I like the design language here on both models. Honda stepped up their interior game for sure. Personally, I would rather get a CX-5 2.5L S model if I was in the market for a base model SUV. -AWD standard -BSM standard -Leather wheel standard And all of the features as the LX for around 28k, depending where you buy it from.

The RAV4 LE is way better. You get an NA engine. A real transmission. Tinted windows and blind spot monitor. Not to mention you get radar cruise and all the safety gizmos. You also get all auto windows with the RAV. This CRV will be junk by 150k.

The new CRV on the outside is not impressive at all, the back looks like a Volvo on the inside if I see that it is very spacious but that 1.5 turbo engine does not convince me at all. love drew

For only a $2k difference I would just go with the ex. This lx would be a great buy if it was around $25k.

Possibly they would take a lower price on a LX. They seam to push the lower models knowing they can sell the touring hybrid.

@@davidandrews8007 I ended up buying the EX-L for my wife. The amount of extras it has was well worth it and I basically got it for the price of a EX. They tried having the price marked up $5k over msrp but ended up getting the car out the door for under sticker.

Completely agree. There needs to be bigger price differences between the trim levels. I’m assuming they only change in price by a couple grand so consumer will just option higher if I’m going to buy a vehicle and drive it for the next 10 years who cares about $2500 right?
