Just spent an hour trying to figure out how to get to FM radio on my ‘23 Highlander Limited. Touching the onscreen clef music note did no good. Finally, hit the onscreen Toyota icon to get to the music settings and much more. NOT in the manual. Frustrating.

How do you change the voice setting for GPS when playing music with Apple CarPlay? For example, we have one profile where when the GPS voice makes a prompt, you can hear the music playing continuously through the other speakers. Then we have another profile where the GPS voice prompt completely silences the music in all speakers while we are driving and have no idea how to go to the other setting to have the music continuously play instead of silencing everything but the voice prompt.

Good information. I just got the '23 Highlander Limited. When I receive a call the ring volume is super high. Where and how do you lower the ring volume for incoming calls. I found the screen you showed that had the ringtone adjustment. When I'm in Park, the slider is greyed out. How do I change the volume? Thanks.

No the standard is Auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink® universal transceiver. You need to have Code IM for the digital mirror and it has a MSRP on it of $200 to go to it. Sorry for the delay responding.

I have a question. I got the 2023 XLE, so far love it. As soon as I turn it on Android connects and takes over the screen. It's all good until I want to play with the radio. How do you pop out of Android Auto's UI into your car's UI? In the past I could use the physical button but now I have no idea 😅.

Click the little dots icon to view all the apps within your android auto, then select the app called "Toyota". That'll take out out of Android auto

How do I toggle from screen to screen? When I start my car the screen automatically shows what is basically my iPhone screen. I can’t figure out how to get to the main screen to all the various functions. I’ve gone from a 2009 Corolla to a 2023 Highlander Platinum and everything is new to me.

Just got my new Highlander XLE. My apple IPhone auto connects but the system always defaults to “Guest”. I have look everywhere on how to make “me” the default so I don’t have to change it every time I start my car…PIN, etc. The “connect” part….I hit connect and it hopes to maintain. Required. I go to maint. And it acts like it wants something else but does not have access to it. ?

@@stevenwelchtoyota Unfortunately either I am a complete idiot, my software is missing options, or something has changed in the most recent software install on my vehicle because I have checked every menu and submenu available in settings but not only is there no customize screen options, but there are several other menus and sub menus not as you describe.

@@taden2007 Tyler, Nope, they changed the software and this ability in this newest version, per the Toyota service tech that I had a discussion with when I took my Highlander in for its 5K checkup. It is unfortunate Steve Welch never actually reviewed and gave me an answer, like he said he would. Truth be told I am a bit disappointed with this vehicle, overall it is nice, but for the $50k price tag I expected more refinement than the 10 year old Ford Escape I replaced it with. Quite frankly the infotainment system sucks no customization, I have what I consider excessive wind noise from the A-pillars, and the steering feel and road vibrations through the steering wheel are not nearly as quiet and refined as the Escape. Just my opinion.....

Correct. You can subscribe to the system and you get the remote connect included with it. It is $15 per month unless you add streaming music then it is $25 per month from Toyota

Steven, I have gone thru your excellent videos but I have a few questions. I have also gone thru the instruction booklet. There are numbers at the bottom of the MID. These are 1-2-3. I don't know what these are telling me. In the end, I want to scroll the MID while different views come up on the left side and right side Can you help me with this?

One thing I most dislike about the screen is clock. Its so tiny you need few seconds to find where is the clock at. Wish they did little bigger like how my 2015 accord had. Whole screen was a clock . Sad

The 2022 and newer Toyotas that have that touch screen are hideous. The rest of the car is nice but that screen overhanging on the dash at the top and not being built into the dash like the older models is just hideous. I looked at trading in for a newer tundra but i decided not to just because of that crappy looking screen design.
