Day two of my 2023 Appalachian Trail section hike. I start out at Muskrat creek shelter and hike a little over 12 miles to Carter gap shelter. It was definitely a cold start to the morning at 12 degrees.

Mountains and freezing and bears, oh my! Just another average day on the AT huh!? On my only 10 mile day so far I recall being cooked.... and that terrain was perfectly flat!! Loved all the views. Its nice there are no leaves to obscure them yet!

Yeah. This time of year is nice without the leaves. 10 miles is just getting warmed up. Just wait for the next episodes.

Go Carlson! Go Carlson! Just did 10 miles all the way around Deam lake, part of KT. Have a great time taking it all in.

Thanks Stoney. Deam lake is beautiful. I got to see some of it when I did the KT.

Brrr! But those views make up for it. I'm sure you warm up quickly going up and down those hills!

Be bold and start cold seemed to be the motto the first two mornings. But you definitely warm up as you start a climb!

Enjoyed the video. Great views! Good choice...Definitely don't need to wrestle any bears if you don't have to.

Thanks Tonya. And no, I’m not wrestling any bears.
