2023 ARRL Field Day Ham Radio Fun - Longmont Amateur Radio Club

Just an observation here. I'm not sure what the point is of having a GOTA station if it's running FT8? Isn't the idea to give friends, family, and passersby who aren't licensed the oportunity to get on the air? How can you do that if it's running FT8? DE K7RLN

FT-8 was used as a teaching tool on the GOTA station. We did not run FT-8 the whole time.

Good points. I noticed that our FT8 position drew the biggest visitor crowds. The younger, hipper, visitors were not too interested in the CW position.

It was warm but we kept cool under the shelter and the nearby tree cover!
