My 2023 HTC was delivered last September and I have to admit I'm a bit nervous about the transmission as well. Apparently an unknown number of late 2023 - early 2024 cars will be recalled to replace the transmissions due to improperly torqued part(s). Although they will be replaced under warrantee I'm very uncomfortable with a local mechanic completing such an invasive procedure. Just standing by hoping I don't get that letter from GM in the mail. As for resale I don't see that as an issue as resale value & the negotiated purchase price of a new Vette are usually in sync with supply / demand. I don't really care about resale though I purchased the car to enjoy and that I will regardless.

If you think like this then you dont love the car and you should sell it. I bought a 2021 2ss 1le A10.. i love that car!! If the transmission goes out i will fix it no matter what it costs! @@AskGriff1 i understand your concerns i did the same thing once, i bought a 2003 acura Cl type S.. loved the car but everyone that who knew about them said get rid of it because the transmissions are junk! I kept it for about 3yrs then sold it before the trans went out and regretted it..the guy i sold it to had it for 3 or 4 yrs then he sold it to guy who i know had it atleast 2 yrs, then he sold it to guy who moved to Cali. You just never know whats gonna happen?, thats kind of like life. If you enjoy the car and it makes you smile then it shouldnt matter what happens. Nothing lasts 4ever , but almost anything can be repaired. Its a beautiful car if you do sell it , i wish i could afford it and i would buy from ya. I have sat in a couple but still havent got to ride in or drive one yet, maybe one day. But honestly man..if the car makes you happy and the trans goes out, so what? Just fix it, im assuming that if you can afford a car like this then your doing pretty well for yourself so i dont think a transmission would set you back too much. But like i said i see where your coming from and i really cannot relate , the dealership where i bought my 1le from gave me a lifetime powertrain warranty so as long as i leave it stock its covered for as long as i own the car.(hopefully)! I wasnt trying to be a jerk im my message , i was just saying if you bought the car to enjoy it , then enjoy it. But if you bought it just for an investment and are worried about the value then i say sell it, otherwise..drive the wheels off that thing..nobody will ever buy one the cars ive owned with low miles..i drive mine almost everyday!! @@cnewell1971 Agreed. The thumbnail was more of an attention grabber. My intentions when I bought the car was to only keep it for 3yrs and then trade up to either a newer model year or go for the Z06 if it was in my price range. The intent of the video was to also get folks to look at the market. What many don’t realize is that the dealerships have begun to offer discounts on the same cars that were once priced $10-30k over MSRP. I’ve seen dealer discounts of up to $8k off for new vehicles. I had dealerships calling me after this video released suggesting that what I was talking about was spot on in terms of keeping an eye on the market and securing good deals. What we discovered was, I missed it by 30 days… Hahaha They all told me the same thing. If you had done this 30 days ago, you would have been golden in trading up. Unfortunately the bottom has fallen out. In good faith, they all said keep the car for now as I already have a great deal. Car has a 5yr 60 on the factory warranty, so should be fine. I wrote about this in a Facebook Group post just today .. that I'm not interested in considering an extended warranty, because I don't see myself wanting to stay in the same car for longer than the factory warranty anyways! I can say this because I have never wanted to keep the same car more than 3 to 5 years! ... So no, .. I'll keep it as long as the 5 year/60k mile powertrain warranty is still active then consider trading for a newer C8 or keep it if it's been trouble free up to that point. My dealer/servicers said they replaced 7 DCTs or valve bodies in the last 3 years and affects about less than 5% of C8s. They said the issue was/is impurities/metal shavings in the DCT during the manufacturing/assembly which is why the first DCT filter change at 7500 miles is critical.
