Nations like in Latin America who cannot afford expensive cars do not and will not have have the charging infrastructure required by EVs, for a very long time.

It all depends on how you generate the electricity that goes to charge your EV. If its wind power, then you really have reduced emissions, but if its generated by a coal fired power station, well that's no gain at all.

As he said, they blow up. Australia and New Zealand have expensive Electric prices and there are not many charging points. So hopefully this change may help.

What you may not realize is that the per capita income in Congo is only $600 (which you can tell from the clothing of the workers in the video). If you hire a child, their parents might kneel on the ground in gratitude. So, please refrain from judging human rights issues from the perspective of European and American citizens, where the per capita income is as high as $70,000. Doing so would come across as ignorant, considering that the people of Congo may struggle even to have enough food to eat each day.
