2023 Cabrinha Moto X First Impressions

Thanks for a great review! Would you recommend this over the SB to a beginner who is (probably) more interested in freestyle & free ride vs big air and kite loops? And is the Moto X as forgiving/beginner friendly as the SB? Cheers!

Mark, I'd say it would be if you are looking to bratch out into more riding styles. The moto x really gives your more options down the road than the switchblade and has a much better bar feel in my opinion than the switchblade. They are both good options still it just depends on what you are looking to do down the road. -Pat

A very nice overview! Could you clarify what you mean that the Moto X is more forgiving than high aspect 5-strut kites when learning big air tricks?

Hey thanks for asking! I find the 3 strut more all around kites a bit faster than higher aspect 5 strut big air specific kites so they complete the loop faster and tend to catch a bit easier. You might not end up goin as high, but the faster loop is a bit more forgiving well trying to work in roations and learning loops. Hope that helped! -Pat

Hello, just to be sure, when you say "Good boost", are its lift-capabilities on par with the EVO SLS? The 2019-Moto could not convince me in this discipline. THX .

Hey Alexander I will need more time on the kite and fly it back to back with an evo to give you a better anwer the 2023 moto x is nothing like the 2019 in my opinion they completly redisinged it from the ground up. It did feel much closer to the Evo than the motos of the past. I'll have to do a more indepth VS video on those two kites. -Pat

Would the moto x have any advantage/disadvantage in gusty conditions compared to a switchblade?

In lighter winds it will be more stable in the sky since it's lighter but the Switchblade is better for handling strong gusts since it's higher aspect and 5 struts. - Tucker

Giorgio, we were just talking about this in the shop. Very comparible and competive with North Reach, Duotone Evo. A but more bar feel which Cabrinha lovers will appreciate but still very light bar pressure in comparison to most Cabrinha kites. Good boost, easy pull and go, turns well, very nimble and fun kite to fly. - Tucker

@@MACkiteboarding Ahh ok!! I didn't want to be rude, just an invitation to compare the two models... I got three moto and I think it's still a good sail despite having used the north and slingshot code several times… 🤘
