Love my Escalade! Paid 107 for mine. Worth every dollar
@Ed-sh8jt2 жыл бұрын
Congrats and agree its a beautiful vehicle. but not sure its worth every dollar after 3 years you lose 45% of value as you push high mileage. With variation in fuel prices pushing 10K pound vehicle is always somewhere in the back of your mind. It will be interesting to see the switch to new generations to come.

Actually it is definitely real wood trim inside. Leather grade- semi aniline - is a huge upgrade in the Platinum option over the Luxury Premium or Luxury Sport. 21-22-23 Escalades now a huge beast compared to the earlier model years, however this is mitigated by the greatly increased leg room in the third seats and the bigger cargo area behind those seats. Gas mileage has improved over the older models. My new Escalade replaced a 2013 Platinum. If you are just driving in town, or mountainous highways, mileage will be painful. Highway travel mileage is not bad if you drive "normally". Comfort is wonderful. Super Cruise, which I initially thought was stupid, but came with the truck, actually is great once you get used to it. The interior and Oled displays look great. And yes, the exterior too.

This Escalade has the Onyx Package that’s why it has the black rims and the monochromatic badges. Also this competes against the Jeep GRAND Wagoneer. The Wagoneer competes with the Tahoe and Yukon as far GM suvs go.

I'm thinking I might want to get this, but in the turbo diesel. Diesel's only slightly more expensive than premium usually, but it will get much better mpg, and it comes with a larger tank, so can go much further on a full tank. Thinking that turbo will help at high altitude in the mountains of ski country too. But either, what a beaut! The V version is incredible, but much lower mpg so hesitating on that one, but so tempting as well.

Great review! Great vehicle! Oh, and great t-shirt! Worth the watch! About this vehicle, there are some small things I wish they would offer in this vehicle, maybe someone there will read this, or someone here will and pass these ideas on to GM, but no major issues, I really like this Sport Platinum. MY SUGGESTIONS: The high gloss wood, and I believe it is real wood just buried beneath a thick gloss finish, I wish it was a high end, open pore wood, like on the Denali and some competitors, not this high gloss, I think that would look higher end and more luxurious. Like you mentioned, I wish they offered either auto or manual sun shades on the second and third row side and rear windows (Wonder if any after markets might be available for that). I wish with the adjustable air suspension that as standard you could add 2" to the ride height rather than just 1", which you can do on the GMC and Chevy versions; though you can get that extra inch if you add the transfer case and 4Low that come with the heavy duty towing package; but just as importantly, I wish you could override the auto lowering if you wished to keep driving at any speeds at the 1" or 2" higher levels; currently even at the extra 1" height, at a certain speed, I think I heard around 35 mph, it automatically lowers back down to the standard height for better mpg; that's great, but as the driver I'd like to have the choice of it not auto lowering and staying 1" or 2" higher at any speed, including on the highways. It's also frustrating that once it auto lowers, it stays there and won't auto return higher. I wish they'd add double pane sound insulated glass to the first and second row side windows, in addition to the sound insulation treatment the glass gets; I do believe the front windshield has that double pane feature, but if not that should too; all just to maximize the sound deadening quality in the first two rows. It's reasonably quiet now but could be even more so, some of their competitors, like Audi, do offer the higher end double pain sound insulated glass in the first and second row side windows. I wish they'd give us the option of having thicker rubber 20" instead of these 22" wheels, such as the ones that come on the Yukon AT4, which would be better on rougher roads including rougher highways. This is supposed to be an suv after all, albeit a very luxurious one, so though I wouldn't go "off roading" with this like I might with a Yukon or others, it would be nice on some of the rougher roads in New England or in ski country out West, and for when I occasionally might want to go off road to get to a camp site or fishing spot or something. At least give us that option. Wish they offered an optional center console between the second row seats, such as is offered by some of its competitors; I would so rarely use the 3rd row, so my preference would be to keep the 3rd row down, and a center console would hide the front of the 3rd row folded down seats, looking better and delineating the truck space behind the 2nd row better; and of course having that center console between the two second row seats does add a bit greater sense of luxury. Those who would use the 3rd row often likely would not want that 2nd row center console, but the rest of us well might, I know I would. It's not a big deal to me, but the 3 zone temp control, both sides in the front and one for the second row, I wish it was 4 zone, so each side, front and second row, could be controlled independently. I wish they offered fog lights, like on the Yukons, but the Night Vision really helps in the fog, so that's not a priority for me, though would be nice so I could keep my eyes looking ahead in bad fog rather than always glancing down to see the night vision view. And lastly, and this is an issue with all its competitors too that offer the power assist running board, so not unique to GM, but I wish they cut just enough inches off at either end of that running board that you could add the splash guards behind the front and rear wheels; currently if you elect to add those it automatically removed the option of the power running boards, and just a few inches shorter and those splash guards wouldn't have to interfere with the raising and lowering of the power running board. Oh, and it is great that a heads up display (HUD) is included, but with only minimal info showing on such, so I wish it would include more of the data points that the HUD on the Yukon Denali and AT4 offer, again, this is still supposed to have at least some suv capability. Lastly, the 3 color options for this particular trim, the Sport Platinum, are nice, I especially like both the black and the auburn, but I wish I could also get these exact leather seats with the brandy color available in lower trims. That brandy colored leather contrasts so beautifully with the otherwise black aspects of the interior and the black exterior. As it is I'm leaning towards the black interior, with the auburn a close second. I'd prefer the black seats without any white beading, but at least that beading is only around the upper part of the leather seats, and doesn't go all the way down like on lower trims, so it is better in that regard. As for exterior colors, the black and the white are both great, though I do like the Infra-Red with black highlights that is or at least was recently available; but that said, the new darker red with black highlights available on the 2023 Escalade V is so amazing, if that exact color were available on this Sport Platinum, that color would likely become my first choice, or at least tied for first with black, wow it is so beautiful looking, dare I say hot looking, but still high end and subdued, a great combination of impressions.

@johnls392 жыл бұрын
So, think about his for a second. Who in their right mind would pay over $100k with fake wood inside a luxury car let alone a flagship? People on here have already stated that the vehicle has genuine wood trim. Even the standard model has genuine wood trim. Back in the day in the '80s, '90 and '00; wood was high gloss. Now the low sheen or matte wood and carbon fiber are optional trim choices very popular among many buyers. Today, just because wood trim have high gloss on it does not mean it is fake. Do better research before doing lengthy videos.

@@musicmakesmesing Well it came _afterwards_ and starts at almost $11,000 more than the base Cadillac Escalade Luxury. Not sure the Jeep’s interior is $11k nicer. I have no indication that they won’t be for the refresh and potentially _still_ undercut the Jeep in price.
