It seems like a bunch of automakers are now making these insane, V8, gas guzzling, cars because they probably know regulations soon won’t allow them to anymore.
@Ultimarium

Bingo, same issue with gasoline prices currently imo. This is their last chance before everything moves to electric and gasoline is going to be dirt cheap again due to low demand. Now is their chance to price gouge and they're definitely taking it.
@conman1395
@conman1395 2 жыл бұрын
Or they planned to make these during the years Trump was in office while gas prices were low. It's not a coincidence that gas guzzlers were popular in the early 2000s before gas prices got high between 2008-2010 and popular again when Trump was in office.

Honestly I totally agree here 5:25. It doesn't matter if they don't have the brand name of MB. People who want an Escalade and can afford it will buy it simply because of that name, Cadillac Escalade. That's been the staple of American boss level luxury.

I have only owned 1 Cadillac -> an Escalade. Bought it when it was 2 yrs old, but got the Cadillac full etc warranty. The customer service I got for the next 4 yrs was UNBELIEVABLY INSANELY AWESOME. Hands down without anything ever even close, even buying more expensive brand new flagship model stuff from other manufacturers. The customer service was so good I still feel guilty buying another brand of vehicle. We sold the Escalade the first time fuel prices went insanely high 10 yrs ago. I don't know if it was the dealer we went through or if Cadillac just does more, but they made everything so easy with warranty and any sort of service. They brought a car to our house and picked up the Escalade (via flatbed tow truck) for warranty work (vehicle rear axle somehow broke) when my wife was pregnant and I was out of state. I have never been treated so ... perfectly ... with anything else.

Fast forward to 2023 and you can see the ingenuity that has gone into the brand's vehicles to some-what justify the price point. Although headed in the right direction, as Doug mentioned, the interior is set back by its "mass-produced" feel. But you can see much of the craftsmanship was focused on the exterior. It really shines with the rear brake and front signal lighting. Their modern elongated and minimal design act as a statement, almost like racing stripes without the tackiness of actual racing stripes.

I have a lot of respect for Cadillac for stepping it up over the years, but for me personally, they’re WAY too over the top 🤯🤯🤯

I don’t care, this is the coolest SUV around. Love my German brands and Tesla. But this is something I have been hoping they would do for years. Not a fan of Caddy, but V is bad ass.

As a European, I would never understand how you need such a big massive beast. I daily an Hyundai I10 and it can do everything I need to do. With a kid included

Can you tow a boat? Can you tow a trailer? Can you drive 29 hours in comfort with a full vehicle? All of these things are relatively normal. I mean, I get it, I agree it’s a lot. But Americans do a lot of things Europeans don’t do often. For example, when’s the last time you do a 6 hour drive? I do one a month. DIY and home improvement, gardening, hunting and fishing, camping are other activities that fit in the full sized suv and truck category.

@@vitaly6312 You don't realistically need to do half of the things you listed. American excess is cringe.

@@ileutur6863 Good thing you're not the decider of need. America is exceptional and that's how we like it. We stopped caring what Europe thought in 1776.

Happy to know there’s “lots of room for head” in the back of the new Escalade! Indeed, I always find it very convenient when going on a date if the girl has an SUV with a large backseat. Thank you Doug for your professionalism and pointing this out for me :)

That thing needs a 2 inch lift, and 35inch KO2s. Put a tent on top. Maybe a mini trailer.
