2023+ Colorado Canyon Dash Grid

After thousands of miles with my 2023 AT4 Canyon I came to the point where I couldn't find places to mount a phone or a camera. I also didn't like the $500 option for additional switches and certainly was unimpressed with their location.
I set out to make 2 solutions to improve the way I use my truck. I enjoy going offroading and do off road recoveries as well. Often I film these to share with you guys.
This necessitates having additional lights and switches to turn them on... A place to mount a camera so that you guys can have a video to watch... And ultimately a place to dock and charge my phone so that i can use the maps applications and generally have a fully charged phone.... something i cant say the factory optioned charger is capable of.
This video is for you guys wanting to make your dash and truck more functional for the ways you use your truck.

This video is super helpful! The GM charging pad sucks so I’ve been looking for a solution. This will allow me to charge my phone and 360 camera! Only question I have is; is it possible to steal the power from the factory charging pad. It doesn’t work anyway. So I’d like to steal its power and just use it as a place to throw my sunglasses. Seems like a waste for it to have power if it’s not doing anything

Since it uses a special module with feedback I'm not sure. I'm sure it's possible but the way I have it wired up it's on when the trucks on. Simple

Dude, your videos are awesome! Yours is an AT4? have you looked at adding the factory underbody cameras or the upgraded dash?

I haven't seen that be possible yet. As low as the truck is honestly it's not likely I'll get the underbody cameras. Now the Colorado on 40s will get 360 and underbody cams.

I wish there was a section like that in the first gen. Kinda hard to find good places to mount stuff in my '06.

Great video, it is so cool you make all this stuff, can you purchase the grid in black?

I don't currently offer it in black but I did purchase a powder coating system recently and want to play with that. I also considered anodizing but haven't started delving into that either. The reflection of the grid on the window is mostly blocked by the trim that is behind the mirror. I don't feel it's annoying but others have asked about black so I'm considering it.

What gauge wire do you recommend to buy for all these projects? Something good enough to power ditch lights, USB ports, bed lighting, etc?

You really need to assess your amperage/wattage needs to determine the wire size. There's no sense running 4ga for a USB plug or conversely 22ga to run a winch. Search around google and you'll find some awesome calculators to determine what wire size you'll need for the distance and usage of each circuit.

Does the grid have an option for a black color? I have all black interior and I want to add a hidden charger and phone mount like this but I feel like the silver would be an eyesore for me

I'm playing with some powder coat currently. I'm not good at it but it does turn out black. You can't see the grid from the driver seat except in the reflection of the window at the very top next to the mirror. Having this on my personal truck for about 5 months now I don't mind it but I am actively testing the black powder coat as well.

My canyon dosen't have the wireless charger, do you think there is a way to add one in that spot ? After market

I thought all trims of the canyon came with it. I would assume the tray could be made to accept one. The factory one is pretty pathetic for charging a phone.

I need a camshaft cap for an H3 3.7. Happen to have any from a blown motor or anything?
