Apparently when ever a F22 does a demo display, the USAF have strict procedures and regulations on what the pilots can do and not allowed to do. This aircraft is only entirely for the USAF and no other Air Force.

@THE-BUNKEN-DRUM Жыл бұрын
In regards to pilots "holding back" during airshows. That's a complete fallacy. It's not some sort of "UFO." During airshows & exercises, what you see is what you get. Time stamp - 19:38 @Aircrew Interview. Demo pilot "Cabo" talks about flying the F22 kzbin.info/www/bejne/fWPLc6yYesSMgsk
@W1ckedRcL Жыл бұрын
That's actually true of all F22 flights, not just shows, except in private testing. Standing USAF orders dictate that F22s are never allowed to fly at max performance or full stealth, even in training with allies, so as not to reveal its full capabilities.
@THE-BUNKEN-DRUM Жыл бұрын
@W1ckedRcL : No, it's not true at all & that especially goes for (particularly NATO) exercises because if they did hold back. If/when they get into 'real' combat, instead of knowing 'precisely' what they aswell their Allies are capable of, they'll constantly have to second guess themselves. More to the point, the F22's avionics haven't been upgraded much since it 1st entered service. Many NATO aircraft (F35 being the most sophisticated) actually surpass it in that area.
@JazzJaRa Жыл бұрын
@@THE-BUNKEN-DRUM Exactly that with the holding back is a welcome excuse if the fighter didn't performed as good as it should, like when it lost against Rafale or Eurofighters in NATO exercises. It wouldn't make any sense to hold back, why not just go up with a trainer aircraft then? And why would a Pilot "like" to lose?

They’re far too high, but a fraction of the taxes in countries you would like (with “free” healthcare). If you think 20-30% taxes are absurd, go check out the 50-60%+ in European countries. Also, do you know how to do math? Let’s assume you make $40k a year (easily doable). Taxes on that would be around 20%, or $8000. However, being in a low tax bracket means you would get much of that back in refunds and credits. You would likely only pay half of that. But even if you paid every cent, that leaves you with $32k. You could buy insanely expensive, $500 a month health insurance and still have $26k left over. Compare that to a country with 50% tax rates and “free” healthcare where your $40k gets cut to $20k. Get a job. Buy health insurance, or do Obamacare.

A pilot that has never shot anything down except a balloon, and I don't think that is brag-worthy. I'd rather be flying an F-18, a plane that is on active missions every day of its existence, running combat air patrols out in front of the fleet. Every flight for a carrier-based F-18 is a real operational mission. The F-22 pilots struggle to even get enough hours in a year to be considered fully combat ready much less fly actual CAP patrols. The F-22 is just so expensive the Air Force just can't afford to fly it for anything but air shows and training. F16 pr F18 to me are far more important to the US than the F-22.

@@chrisnauta2467 I kinda know what you mean. It's sort of a 4th generation vs 5th generation in terms of entertainment value. The F-22's thrust-vectoring combined with its absolutely massive wings+horizontal stabilizers/elevators is extremely impressive and allows the pilot to demonstrate how much control he has over the plane, especially at a lower speeds, but when you're watching an air show sometimes want to just see a plane rip it - coming in at slight downwards trajectory at extremely high speed then turning into a very wide horizontal/vertical loop without bleeding too much speed. In those instances, the F-16 is performing at its maximum capability and you can see how hard the jet/pilot are pushing to execute those turns which is great to watch. The F-22 can easily make those same turns so the pilots tend to demonstrate the high maneuverability unique to 5th generation jets: executing much tighter and more controlled turns at highly varying speeds (the F-16 would stall and plummet like a rock attempting to do anything close to those maneuvers). But in an air show, sometimes you just want to see what is basically a jet engine with wings (F-16) going full throttle and pulling maximum G's (even if such maneuvers are now semi-archaic :p)
@ToreDL87 Жыл бұрын
