The " new " Stutz was a much maligned, coach built motor car. Although it was based off of the Pontiac Grand Prix, all of the body and interior was hand built in Italy. Elvis and Frank made these famous. Sammie Davis Jr. also had one. It was "thee" car to have back in the day. One with Elvis provenance sold for big money recently. Love 'em!!

Elvis was sold the first one, because, unlike Frank, he would pose with his Stutz. These don't get the respect they deserve, as few people know what they are and think they are a kit car.

They are unique looking and I've always liked them. This one's mint 🤩 the first time I saw one was the early 70's at a car show in Nassau Coliseum Pam.

Hard to be complimentary here for me Pam as you might have guessed, the guys who earlier had pimped out all those Lincoln Continentals could have saved some moola by getting one of these because it already came ..well ...let's say decorated. Kind of creates a picture of guys with 6 gold chains around the neck, the Gabor sisters and Jackie Stallone. _Money and taste do not go hand in hand_

Are you questioning Elvis, Evil Knievel, Sammy Davis Jr, Frank Sinatra, Johnny Cash, Wilson Pickett, Tom Jones, Elton John ...... taste?? Well, OK, maybe you are in this case.... 😉😆 I had the opportunity to drive Johnny Taylor's Stutz ( Jan's car in the video at the end ). Looking over that aircraft sized hood at the tops of the headlamps wrapped in fine leather, wood, gold and 3 bars ( yes, Johnnie's car had 2 in the back and one in the center console ) is a divine experience.

I can't believe someone paid 30-large for that monstrosity! It does have a claim on history, however. The Blackhawk was the last car designed by Virgil Exner. The first one was build in 1971, and Exner died two years later.

Did he die of embarrassment?? 😉😆 Just kidding!!! The styling grows on you as you explore the craftsmanship of the Stutz. It was aimed at a select few who could afford such a car and wanted to be seen. As Carsmartmedia2324 stated, it was " thee " car to have back in the day.

Oh, Brooks, this is a coachbuilt motorcar with the finest trim originally bought by the elite, like Phyllis Diller .. oh, wait.... 😉😆
