That's a towing machine! Surprising that Ford lets you select quite a few stand alone options on the F-450.

New F450 definitely has the best all around perfomance for a dually. Wide track front, no more rust with aluminum body, big power, lots of room, huge axles, 10 lugs, huge brakes, and big towing numbers.

Yes it's true I had a tire blow out and they had to put a new bedside on it and it was about 8 months I wish they put two new bed sides on My bedside tool box is folding the bed rails in

Thanks for the new technical engine info! Not sure if its true, but the powerstroke is supposed to have steel pistons. Forgot to mention, would be cool to see a review on a F600 diesel if possible.

Yes, it has steel pistons. Originally came in the 2020 refresh of the 6.7

Ordered a lariat last two 450's just because i wanted the big screen and better stereo... I did delete the standard center console for the 40/20/40 seating shown here.....best of both worlds IMHO.

Those wheels are made to fit around larger heavier duty brakes. F350s and 3500s wouldn’t necessarily need those 19.5 inch wheels.

I can't believe Ford is still putting DRIVE tires on the front of these. That "D" in the HD3, stands for DRIVE. it's a drive tire and those tires start breaking belts at about 20,000 miles. Also, they tramline badly. They grab every groove in the road and cause a white knuckle experience. it's just inexcusable that Ford would continue to put drive tires on the front. If you're buying one, tell the dealer to put steer tires on the front.

If you noticed the tire designation I'm surprised you didn't notice it is an FX4 package. the front driving axle kind of requires drive tires. if thet didn't put them on a 4x4 off'road package most people would be upset about that. what you are recommending should be for the 4x2 dually.

@@MrPeacekeeper44 that's not how that works in the commercial tire world. You don't put drive tires on a steer axle and ford is doing it on every F450, whether it's an FX4 or not. Those drive tires don't even make it to 30,000 miles when put on the front end.

@@jeffclark4008You really don’t know what you’re talking about ! I have a 2022 F450 platinum and had 27,000 + miles on mine. And tow a 21,000 lbs 5th wheel full time. I do have the centramatic wheels balancers. No funny wheel wear . I believe I will get 40,000 miles out of them maybe more.

@@TonyBenton0728 No, I do know what I'm talking about. When it comes to commercial tires, there are drive tires and there are steer tires. Also, commercial tires on these trucks should last north of 80,000 miles, if you think 40,000 miles is good, you don't know anything about commercial tires. You might want to check your front tires for broken belts. I'm telling you, those D tires are not designed to go on a steer axle.

@@jeffclark4008 Well you are wrong ! I drove semi trucks for over 41 years. So yes I do know something about commercial tires. And the 450 is 4 wheel drive so you are going to have the same tires on front. Tell me when you have seen steer tires on the front of a 4 wheel drive vehicle? Since I have the Centramatic wheel balancers maybe my estimate on the mileage is wrong and that will be a good thing.

I could REAALLYY use your advice and input on a heavy duty truck. The plan is to order a Brinkley Model G toy hauler (that’s the plan at THIS POINT in life, but definitely a 40 foot plus, 5th wheel) and be full time in the next 3 years (I work at NASA and need to finish out my mission before I leave). I also need time to pay off my truck before leaving NASA, so I’m purchasing now rather than later. So my question; I ordered a 2024 Ram 3500 Limited Night Edition Mega Cab with the high output Cummins with dual rear wheels. My heart is with Ford (currently own a 2022 F-150 Limited) but I ordered a Ram because I feel it’ll take to long to get a Ford Super Duty. Is the Ram I ordered going to be good enough, and get me around the US without issues whether it be hills or flat land? And is the 6 speed Aisin really that big of a problem as I’ve read and seen in videos, and will make me regret not getting a Ford? I’ve never driven let alone sit inside a Ram, which blind purchases sometime aren’t good. Someone like you I completely trust, and I know you are very knowledgeable and provide good sound advice. Could really use someone’s advice that isn’t biased and just good ole background and knowledge. Thank you, and I love your videos! Take care.

Only problem is the 6 speed girds 100 speed keeps you where you want to be in the power band double overdrive with a 430 gears will never slow down on any hill

Unfortunately yes it still has a cp4 fuel pump. That's the only issue in my opinion with this truck.

Maybe. But you’ll probably be spending more money than you need to. Plus doing that pretty much defeats the purpose of an F-450. You’ll probably want to go with an F-350 dually instead because you’ll have more options for gear ratios. Which includes: 3.55, 3.73, 4.10, and 4.30. Plus you’ll have a higher payload with an F-350. F-450’s only come in 4.30.
