So it is interesting that for someone who reviews a 1000 cars a year you don’t realize what valet mode is and just complain about the restrictions of valet mode instead of getting it out of valet mode to do a proper review, you wonder why people are saying you are biased when your review is in valet mode comparing that to other vehicles not in valet mode- perhaps you should re-title your video as model Y long range valet mode review? A simple google search would show that this car dropped to 52990 on 1/13, and is currently selling for 54990. PS perhaps look at the monroney before quoting specs - this car has a 330 range not 318

BEN - because YOU are using the KEYCARD to Drive the TESLA , you are in VALET mode with NERFED Permissions and Controlled access . IF you had the TESLA phone app , then you would have COMPLETE access to the TESLA & Frunk. but , the Dealership would have to give you Permission.

That Mach-E space white is actually what my wife and I ordered back in March 2022 from lhm ford Provo. We were told it would be delivered in August of 2022 and it came a year later. We needed a new car due to a baby on the way and we couldn’t wait so we ended up getting a used model 3 long range and we’ve been really happy with it. Especially the charging network compared to non Tesla chargers. LHM was very helpful and gave our deposit back on the car. We still like the Mach E but timing didn’t work out and I’m happy with the longer range over the select.

Hard to beat Tesla's Supercharger Network if you drive a lot. If you don't drive a lot and keep it in garage every night, then Mach E is better option IMO.

Just because the Tesla is on valet mode does not mean it is a bad car. To start off, you are evidently biased towards the Mach e. Secondly, the fronk does not open because of the valet mode. You got it from a dealership, so obviously they wouldn’t take off valet mode. And your price for the model Y is outdated as it the new price for the model y long range is now 54k not 65k. Humble yourself.

I would take the Mustang for looks alone over the plain-Jane Tesla, and the fact Mustang has Apple Carplay. Tesla’s advantage is their charging network - not their cars which continue to had fit and finish problems and an interior that looks and feels like a bare-bones economy car. In my area of Southern California, yes Tesla’s are as common as Camerys, but the Mustang Mach-Es are everywhere. Overall Tesla’s need a major design update and a plussed-up interior. There are so many choices out there now and it seems a lot people may want an EV but want a more traditional look, at least the interior.

Tough to compare the two as the $$ cost $$ comparison has flipped the advantage to Tesla. The ford for one needs to lose the "mustang" name and just be called a mach E. The Tesla is getting a bit dated with its style but is far advanced in range and ease of charging while on road. That same 67 grand model y is now 49 grand new and will continue to qualify for the full $7500 tax credit after the 18th of April where the Ford will not. Soo the question now is the Ford worth in some cases worth upwards of 20 grand more than. the Tesla. Dont think so.. A top of line performance model y is 57 grand - $7500 bringing it under $50grand. top of line ford is over 70grand - $3750 tax credit still leaving it over 70 grand!! Elon has put the pressure on his competition by being able to slash prices. As you said sucks for those who paid 70 grand for the Tesla.

I did a buildout & price (w/ rebates for Colorado beginning July 1) of the MY standard range ($35990) and a MME AWD standard range ($43,690). Between getting the consistent fit and finish that comes with a ford and not putting money in Elon's pocket - I think the Ford is actually a better choice. The $8k price difference is stark but I don't know that I would want to roll the dice with Elmo's company right now.

Funny that the review seems heavy skewed towards the Mach-E and he doesn’t even know how the Tesla features work. If you like old fashioned, sure get the Mach-E. Traditional buttons are good. But if you prefer the car to figure out most things for you then the Y is better save the auto wipers.

Based on the Munro teardowns, the Model Y is light years ahead of the Mach-E with technology and production. A barely 200-mile range on that Mach-E should be perfect for those long Utah drives.

Interesting review but I think the Mach E was undersold because of the model you were showing; I drove the Model Y yesterday in the rain and I two things I didn't like were the seat and the windshield wipers. I actually like the Model 3 better. and and deciding between that and the Mach 3; I like having the speed in front of me; I find the Tesla screen is too busy and distracts from safe driving

The charging network seems to be the difference between long-distance travel in an electric car being trivial or nightmarish. It's hardly double. According to google the Model Y has "30.2 ft³, 76.2 ft³ with seat area", Mach E has "29.7 ft³, 59.7 ft³ with seat area" Seat's up, yeah it actually is roughly the same. Seats down, Tesla has more(but certainly not double).

I owned a Tesla Model S 2016 and love it. Last year, it had an accident. It took the shop 4 months to eventually fix the car. The reason is Tesla shop doesn't work on bodies, and the body shop can't do a lot of the technical calibrations, and have to make appointment with Tesla shop. I don't know what's it is like with these legacy dealers but can't imagine a 4-month repair elsewhere.

So, I’m really curious about the ride quality in the 2023 Model Y, since they apparently really improved / softened the suspension. I have a Mach E, and I really like it a lot, but I can’t lie - it rides like shit. I really feel beat up after a long trip. I’d take a downgrade in build quality at this point in exchange for a softer ride - especially at the new Model Y price point (and they are still fully eligible for the refund).

I had tested drove the mach-e, and the 2022 model Y long range - I was driving a F-150 and it rode much better than both - this year the 2023 model Y LR rides much better and I traded my F-150 in on the Model Y LR 2/6/23 and I have already driven it from Buffalo, NY to Lakeland FL and back - much better ride than the 2022 - it is subjective but hopefully that helps you

I have Mach E GT performance extended range which in summer can goes as fast as 330 and in the winter goes down as low as 275 depend on how cold the weather is. As far as technology, I think tesla slightly win in this one. For charging network supposed to be the regular charging network win in number of stations across USA but most of them unreliable mean, they lack of maintenance from the manufacture/provider. Different story with tesla charging station which rarely seen the broken charging station. Being that now tesla already makes their super charge station available to other EV (non tesla) even better to own not tesla but "REAL" car like mach E ...
