How can you make a video like this without including a drag race?
@marwasalem9668 Жыл бұрын
You’re right, of course. As I mention in response to a similar question above, the presenter seemed determined to give the Mach e the edge. Thing is, the Mach e pulls power after 5 seconds and the Kia would’ve smoked it in a drag race ;)
@wtdash6 ай бұрын
Autoguide really doesn't care about performance....they never post 0-60 or 1/4 times in their online reviews. Not sure if that's for liability reasons or a different audience than other reviewers???

No mention of the waaaaaaaaaay faster charging on the Kia vs the ford?!?!
@0HOON0 Жыл бұрын
Biggest problem with both of these is that neither Ford or Kia are producing enough.
@michaelc2254 Жыл бұрын
Why didn’t you drag race them, or at least do 0-60 runs in each? They are both performance models after all, a real world comparison would be interesting.

Probably because the Ford pulls power after 5 seconds and the Kia would’ve smoked it. The guy seemed determined to give Ford the edge.

*** The Kia EV6 GT won the 2023 World Performance Car award * As a proud owner of the EV6 GT and having driven it over 4000 miles so far, I’ll say you missed several important features that Kia offers: 1. Bidirectional charging where the car can power appliances/electronics, 2. Much faster charging that the Ford, 3. Longer warranty, 4. It also has an excellent HDAS, 5. The Ford only gives you that power for 5 seconds before pulling back, so really Kia trumps Ford in that department, 6. Real-world range of the EV6 is much longer than the estimated EPA: I get closer to 220 in mine. I owned an EV6 GT-Line before the GT, then when making the switch to performance, I still chose the EV6 over the Mach-E GT Performance or MY performance. The car is outstanding when it comes to handling and comfort and it amazes me the level of comfort I get in the car despite its incredible performance.

I've driven both and this isn't true. I don't know if it's due to the drivetrain or suspension but the Mustang felt noticeably better to drive. The speeds are negligible and neither feels faster than the other...but the Ford I think handles better and it feels like you can go faster in it without being worried about cornering, etc.

I think you failed to mention the Mach-E powerloss after 5-10s of full acceleration? Lap-by-lap time decreases in the Mach-E drastically due to that protection of their sub-par Inverter design. And by any performance metrics, the Mach-E is slower. Also, EV6 charges superfast, unlike the Ford.

Good video. I very much wanted to like the EV6. Unfortunately, it was just too small for me. (I'm 6'4" and was cramped in the car, even with the seat all the way back.) Sitting in the back seat was a no-go. I ended up getting the Mach-e California Route 1 and am thrilled with it. Had it since October and have yet to use the rear wiper. Not sure why it is there. My wife has never used the rear wiper on her six-year-old VW Golf. Road spray? What is that? Do you drive through rivers often?

EV6 has a ton of rear seat legroom. Roof height is a bit lower, but my fiancé who is 6’ tall rides in the back with no problems. I went with the EV6 GT over the Mach-E because of the rapid charging and driving characteristics. It’s insane plugging into a fast charger at even 50% SOC and it immediately pulling over 200kW and maintaining the high rate of charge all the way to the mid-90% range. Even 10-100% only takes about 35 mins, while 80% arrives in just a hair over 15 mins. I swapped the 21” wheels for 19” wheels and I’m now averaging 3.7mi/kWh (for a real world range of about 280 miles) in a mix of interstate and two lane country highway driving (55mph). In stop and go city driving I can see over 4.3mi/kWh which gives me over 320 miles. Kia was hyper conservative with the range figures published. I also love the adaptive dampers as they do a nice balance in normal of being firm but comfy, while Sport/GT firms things up considerably for backroad blasts.

I'm only 5ft 10, but i got in a EV6 last week (while i was ata dealers for soemthing else and to confirm my impression of sitting in one last year) and literally hit my head on the inside ceiling getting in.Its much lower than other cars Ive been in. Also, sat in the rear and couldnt get my feet under the drivers seat, which makes the back much less roomy. Underwhelmed for such an expensive car.

I’m 6ft 2” (long upper body) and literally have something like 4” room above my head in my GT, equipped with the moonroof! Never once hit my head getting in. I do however have the seat lowered all the way to the bottom, but it’s something I do in every car I’m in, so never giving it a thought. The seats in the non GT versions are mounted higher, but I’m still able to sit in them without touching the roof. 😊

@@Joe-lb8qn I do have rear passengers… but they are only 5ft 3” and 5ft 8” (my children), so they don’t complain at all, but really do like the vast amount of space compared to our previous KIA Proceed GT. However, last weekend we did a road trip with some friends, and the long legged woman at 5ft 11” sat behind me. The only complaint was the short distance from the floor to the seat, which resulted in lack of support for her upper legs, but beside of that she thought that everything was better than in their own Tesla Model Y. I do know the talks about the lack of headroom in the non GT versions of the EV6, but the seats in the GT are different and has a lower mount. I did hear the narrator talk about the seat height… but I have to say, that I think it must be highly individually… because a lot of owners at approximately my height (6ft 2”) do not complain at all. Maybe I’m used to cars with a low headline, but I really struggle to see what the problem is, because in my eyes I’m nowhere near touching the roof, even though I have the moonroof. 😊
