With VERY limited space for a layout in my home, Z scale seems ideal - even HO layouts I’ve tried to fit in are just too limited in what I can achieve in track length / interest / realism. Nice video 👍

Just keep in mind some of the Z scale trains can be very expensive.
@lesliefulton92196 ай бұрын
the thing I found about modeling in Z scale is that when you work on larger scales, they aren't that much of a challenge, you develop "z eyes". For a small scale though, you start craving wider curves rather than trying to squeeze as much as you can into a small space..

What are those two cars at 5:13? I would love to try to get the corsair one
@randysmidt197611 ай бұрын
Those cars were scratchbuilt by the late Fred Ladd, a former club member. I believe he used a micromachines toy for the Corair.

Hey, what is the manufacturer of that first NYC steam loco? I need to snag one to repaint to recreate the B&O Royal Blue train

That is a Marklin 21st Century Ltd.

It's hard to believe that this is Z scale with all the detail. Are the cars/trucks animated in situ or only on the video?
@Dakman Жыл бұрын
Those vehicles are really animated on a custom built track by a club member using a magnet system

That sure looked like 'N' to me... Not one time was there any indicator or reference point for actually seeing/realizing the smallness of the 'Z' scale... Even the far off shots closing in on the landscape looked 'N' to

The very beginning of the video shows the club sign which is Z Bend Track. A great Z scale club. Everything was recorded with my cellphone using certain settings to make sure viewers could see the trains. I can assure you that the trains in this video are definitely Z scale.

Hey guys, so I wanna get a train, I blame railfan channels on KZbin, and now video's like this.
@Dakman Жыл бұрын
That's great you want to get into the model train hobby because of KZbin Channel videos. All you have to do is figure out what scale is good for you and go from there. Get a basic set and learn as you go. For example if you decide on HO trains, you can get a basic Bachmann set and grow gradually into DCC controls and higher end HO such as Athearn, Scale Trains and Atlas.

the train shop that i go to only deals with H/O scale & O-scale ... they don't waste their time with bull-shitte scales !! ... (fixing it is more expensive than a brand new unit) ...(go figure)

The club member sorta copied the Faller animation system but used a couple of different components
