I remember seeing my first Z-scale setup. I was used to HO and the next one down or so. Id never seen such a small railroad and so detailed. It was in a giant local mall and the model train store wasn't there but about a year or two. But it was wonderful.

This is as good as it gets, hats off to you, to have locomen on board is awesome. Its my major gripe with the larger scales that there is population at large but no passengers or train crew. During the description of the scenes, I forget the scale is so small until the narrator points with his finger. It throws me off if every time the relatively enormous finger comes floating in. This type of detail makes you forget just how small Z scale really is.

It would be a complete nightmare, but you could make a truly gargantuan and elaborate layout in this scale for a space like this. You could probably fit half of long island. But then you consider verticality, and god knows the things you could do. The problem is that you'd get carpal tunnel within a few months of running and construction

My problem with n and z scale has always been the dominant time period for the scale. Both are still seeing large portions or the majority of the rolling stock for there scales set in transition era. I and many of the younger new modelers to the hobby are not interested in transition era so these scales to not appeal to us as much. HO has done a great job of moving away from transition era rolling stock with many manufacturers producing modern freight cars.
@tsgmultimediaАй бұрын
I hear you, but I think there is a growing trend towards modern rolling stock in N and Z scales!
@GreatNWАй бұрын
@@tsgmultimedia I agree, micro trains has been slow to put out many modern cars however I do see they are starting to move towards more modern rolling stock. I hope to start see more and more modern rolling stock com out for Z I would like to try it myself.
