I'm selling my sports car to buy this bike, it reminds me of my 750 from my younger days, just much cooler looking and powerful. I've been riding for a good 40 years so I might as well enjoy the years I have left riding this bike while I can.

Higher risers or bars would solve the Clamshell riding position you experienced, perhaps the guys at Oxford HD will have something fitted for your next test, would be a good reason for another spin, they are great fun to ride.

I bought mine in 20 when I thought that they were going to be gone forever. I've got the same air cleaner, Bassani radial sweepers, a Wood Knight Prowler 22x cam, and a full tune. Now to get the 23' tank on my bike and a Legend air suspension. The Breakout isn't for everyone, but it's damned well right for me. I love riding her almost as much as I love riding my wife.

Nice bike and engine. What i find funny is a large part of what you are paying for are those beautiful crome pipes. But 99% of buyers will replace them for louder pipes. Why doesnt Harley just make the pipes with interchangable baffles so peoole who buy it can get the tone they want with the original pipes. And what happens to all the bran new original pipes that are taken off of every new Harley ? There must be thousands of bran new pipes somewhere. Its like you are paying allot of money for beautiful pipes for no reason. Why doesnt Harley just have an option to buy there bikes without the pipes. Its just an observation from someone who is not a Harley guy. But i do apreciate them.
@redangrevival
@redangrevival Жыл бұрын
Hear Hear 👏 A very good observation and you are completely right! I am not sure if it is down to emissions or that it helps keep the aftermarket exhaust industry going! Either way a valve or removable baffles on the standard exhaust would be great. Cheers

Like the big Harleys. My current bikes are a 1900 Roadliner. A Triumph Thruxton 1200. Yamaha had 13,000 kms on the clock. Triumph had 2700 kms. Together they cost $A34,000 with on road costs. The Yamaha has 100 hp, big motor loping power long wheelbase, well made good handling. The Thruxton is fully acccessorised and has the street appeal of a Harley bit without the Hells Angel vibe. The 117 Breakout costs from $A38,000 in Australia. In UK it's $A46,000. Lors of custom parts and good deoreciation rate . Ive entered a Harley dealer many times yet never took the Rubicon step to buy one....except 50 years ago I swapped a new Yamaha for an 1942 WLA. Thats my take on Harleys.

We'll just go in the pub and get pissed😂😂😂 I think that badass bike is getting to you 😂 Mind you, if you were an American Harley rider, you wouldn't be wearing ANY safety gear. I agree that is the best looking new Harley. Except the mirrors, they are naff. It's screaming for drop down bar ends. And I think you have to be built like the Ol' Man to be really comfortable on it. Terrific review.

Great review. I have owned 2 Breakouts. 2014 and 2017 CVO 103-110. currently on a 2023 street Glide. but seeing this 117 in the 2023 breakout has me possibly wanting to get back into another breakout. Yes, they're very hard in my opinion to tight corner but I can go over Paris Mountain here in SC easily on a breakout. the torque and HP on this new one sound great. and the higher handlebars you pointed out definitely add to the aesthetic of the bike. nice rake on it. just add some custom aftermarket pipes from TAB OR V&H should give the bike the sound to match the look. I don't ride very far. more in town hop around bike. once you get used to the breakout they are fun to take on an 1hr-2hr cruise. again, nice review.

Hi 👋, it just looks like a bigger version of the soft tail DEUCE , I think it’s too expensive, I think you’ll be great on the open roads, but once you get into traffic like the city of London , or Barcelona, or Madrid or St Tropez, I think you then struggle, and it will overheat. I think the SOFTAIL DEUCE is one of the best looking bikes out there, I had written mine who a lot of a hog rallies in Europe and never had a problem with it, they are only sad thing about it is that my ex female partner has scanned me back in 2019 where I had to sell it, I had had it from new 1999, I’ve got over 55,000 miles on the clock, and I have written it in a serious fashion, 20+ guys hurtling across Europe , sometimes not breaking the speed limit ha ha, The bike looks great, but it doesn’t really sound like a Harley and by the looks of it the air cleaner gets in the way, Bring back the softail DEUCE a light and nimble motorcycle, RIDE SAFE GUYS, PHIL FROM THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOULIN FRANCE

@white_devil73 Almost bought one. It was in my final 4 bikes I test rode. I shopped 5 dealerships and rode 9 bikes. So my comment was just 2 days from my test ride. I have rode another one since then while on a group ride. Swapped bikes with a fellow who wanted to try my bike. We did two gas stops and I got a much better feel for the Breakout. It is by no means a terrible bike, but I still stand buy my comments. The bike just doesn't fit me right. But that's ok. There is a bike for everyone!
@white_devil73
@white_devil73 Жыл бұрын
@tkchillin2065 fair enough. I've got a 20 model with the heavy breather. It doesn't bother me when I ride, but I know what you're talking about. You're dead on about the cornering. I'll scrape pegs, and she still doesn't like to corner. Still, I love my bike and will never sell her. Keep the wheels down.

Fricken Harley Davidson. They make stylish, well powered bikes for premium cost and saddle them with the cheapest, ugly mirrors, grips that are also found on their cheapest bikes, and incadescent lighting for all but the headlight. In 2023! Let's not even get into the quality of the seat versus any after market seat. I mean, look at the bike, then look at those mirrors that could be on any UJM. I'm not ranting as a HD hater. As a HD buyer, I'm tired of paying extra dollars for things that, considering the cost of the bike, should at least be somewhat included as the base level components of an expensive motorcycle. For an HD enthusiast, I can attest to a feeling of upgrade fatigue. Can't I just buy a bike off the floor and ride it without the feeling that I need to upgrade this or that to bring it up to what its base potential really is? Oddly, I'm OK with stock exhaust. Having lost my shirt on aftermarket headers, pipes and tunes when selling a bike, base power is fine, thank you very much. BTW, my therapist thanks you for taking her shift.
@redangrevival
@redangrevival Жыл бұрын
👍 Haha thanks glad you enjoyed the video! Nothing beats a bit of motorcycle therapy. I do agree partly with you, I think the grips and mirrors could definitely be of better quality. I suppose they are creating a huge second market for modifications etc...
