In this video I review the 2023 Head Radical MP tennis racquet! Thanks for watching.

You give us good details (like how the frame hits above the shoulder) and, too, a good overall sense of the frame (that it’s a jack of all trades like the Pure Strike, but is more control-oriented). Keep up the good writing, and I still dig your unique spec-reading openings.

just got this racket - can't say I like it more than the 2021 mp I tried, but it forces me to have good form and when I get in my groove it's very good. it's especially powerful on high backhands which I used to struggle with on the babolat pure strike edit: finished watching the video and I'm relieved that the racket is good with volleys, I was worried it would be too slow.

you can't do a review with -12 sw points, it's not a radical mp anymore, find another one in specs then you can deliver a good review!

This is what some people will end up with if they order one… many manufacturers are often well under spec on swingweight from my experience

Great format with the spec check in the beginning and the voiceover during play... You've earned a new sub!

Do you recall what static and swing weight were once strung and with overgrip? Best.

I've watched many reviews of this racket as I'm about to buy it, and they've all been good, but this was the best. I've been play testing a demo and can relate to all that was said here. Really appreciate how you present your reviews. Nice work.

Some say that the Extreme Tour Auxetic has more dwell time than the Radical MP Auxetic. And some say the exact opposite. In your opinion. Which frames does the ball get in and out of the stringbed quicker?
@simmstennis Жыл бұрын
I’d say it gets in and out of the radical noticeably quicker

I think if this racquet came in on spec, the plow/stability on the groundstrokes would be there. This is the risk of not paying the distributor a spec-find fee to get a racquet in stock that is on spec. That said, I think this racquet has innate pop and speed through the air. Ball doesn't dwell, necessarily, but it feels like a firmer cousin to the Blade v8.

I agree! Well said.

congratulations for the content, which customization would you indicate for an intermediate player, how much weight to add and in which parts of the racket,thanks
@simmstennis Жыл бұрын
Thank you. On this racket I would say that most intermediate players shouldn’t need to add any extra weight. If someone was going to add weight I think 1-2 grams at 12 or 3-4 grams at 3 and 9 would be a good place to start

Are you able to compare this Radical MP Auxetic to the Blade V8 16x19?
@simmstennis Жыл бұрын
Yeah, they are very similar in a lot of areas… power, control, spin, etc. the main difference is that the radical gives a much stiffer response where it feels like the ball gets in and out quickly. The blade feels softer and feels as if the ball dwells on the strings longer

@@simmstennis Cool, thanks for the reply. You should really try adding some lead to 10 and 2 and some weight in the handle of the Rad MP. It turns it into an entirely different racket. Then do another review.

curious how this compares with the new vcore
@simmstennis Жыл бұрын
It’s stiffer, feels more direct and is lower powered. It also has a lower launch angle and provides less spin
