When you mention adding 3-4 grams at 3 and 9, do you mean 3-4 grams total and splitting it in half for each side? Or did you mean 3-4 grams each for 3 and 9, totalling 6-8 grams?
@simmstennis

3-4 grams total. 1.5-2 on each side.

m a d3 college tennis player, and I use a vcore pro 97... and occasionally when they are being strung i have 3 back up vcore tour g 97s. Anyways a friend of mine has a ezone 98 for sale... and im curious if this racquet will be a good fit for me. I hit hard with lots of topspin. do you think this frame would be good for me?

It could be. Ben Shelton made that switch and it worked out pretty well for him. There’s also a chance that you could find it too powerful or stiff feeling for your liking. I’d say give it a try if you can.

How would you compare these racquet to the Speed Pro 2024? Saw your review(really enjoyed it!!) and your comments about it. I’m currently looking for a racquet to replace my Extreme Tour 2022, had the torsional stability it has(tried to solve it with lead but couldn’t find a set up comfortable for my liking). Interested in the Blade V9 16x19, Radical Pro, Speed Pro and Ezone 98. All these racquets are different(98 vs 100 + more control vs more power) but where options that really caught my eye and as I’m not able to demo them I’m really trying get as much info as possible to decide which will suit me the best. I can generate my own power so control + stability will be the top priorities.
@simmstennis
@simmstennis Ай бұрын
If control and stability are your priority I’d go with the Speed Pro or the Blade 98. I’d say the biggest difference between the 2 comes down to the beam being thinner on the blade so it gives a bit of a softer feel but is also slightly less stable. The speed would offer more stability and a feel that is still fairly soft but a little artificial feeling.

@@simmstennis Thanks a lot for the info!!! Yeah, my brother played with the graphene touch speed pro from 2016 and liked it, but i don't know how much the racquet change over these years. Based on your comments and review i'm really leaning towards the blade due to it's thinner beam and softer feel plus the fact that i feel more confortable playing with a 98. Really enjoyind the content of the channel! Greetings from Argentina

Great review. I absolutely love Zero, which is my favorite string. I use it in a tight string pattern and it just opens the racket up. It's a bit on the stiff size, so a good alternative is Toroline Super Toro, which seems to play just slightly softer. Both are great strings.

"The truth about..." implies that we have been told lies by others. Which is not the case. Good ball pocketing is not exclusive to Sync. I am using a Zero 1.28/1.23 blend and it pockets like mad. Very lively though, I rarely dare to swing fully. Before that I tried a Zero/Sync blend. Slightly less pocketing, a little deader (yes, I am one of these hard hitting monsters that pop balls for breakfast) and equally good spin. But a tad erratic on the launch angle, the strings move on each other as much as THEY like, not as much as I expect. They even move on flat shots sometimes, I can hear them snapping back. I can play Zero/Sync for 5 weeks and it doesn't feel worn until it breaks. Zero 1.28/1.23 lasts shorter but announces its end by peeling of the cross string. My racquet is a diva in strings, I am glad to have found a well working setup. Won't change back, but I'm not sure which one (Zero/Sync or Zero 1.28 full bed) is better. Zero blend is too lively for me but can easily work if some power is welcome.

That’s a great question! I’d have to put Hyper-g in there and probably Confidential as well. Volkl Cyclone, Lynx Tour, and Toro Toro (which I’m experimenting with now) would all be candidates for that 5th spot.
