I loved your unboxing. I thought it was so great you also noted to newbies that they don't need all of this to be accepted into planner community. So important as all the hauls are up on YT now. I'm thinking of getting a weeks for on the go now! - Natalie 😀💖

Hi Natalie! I remember feeling so overwhelmed when I first started in the planner community, and these hauls, while absolutely beautiful, can be a bit too much for anyone just starting out. I think it's important to remind everyone to really only buy what you absolutely absolutely LOVE and will actually use. Thanks for watching!

Love this years line up! Can’t wait to see how the year pans out with them. You do a great job being consistent. I wish I can get back to the journaling world. 🥰

I really enjoyed your haul! It's great to see that one doesn't need to buy/use a lot of planners to be productive! 😆 I rarely can use more than one planner per year (aka the A5 cousin). I love your week's choice - it would be a pleasure to look at every time you take it out.

Thank you!! I am a minimalist at heart and have learned that having seven planners is way too overwhelming!

I just got my Weeks (went with the yellow cover for 2023) and will be getting my Techo from my partner for Christmas, as has been tradition for years. So excited to dive into a new planner! PS the nail polish is 🔥

Thank you, Lene! So great that your partner uses a Techo as well.

So much fun! My Hobonichi purchases from US shops got stuck in Customs, so they're still trickling in, but the last package should arrive tomorrow. I'm with you -- the Japanese Weeks never bothered me and I even like it some ways. I ended up with the Art Weeks for 2023, which is still in Japanese. I wonder if you or someone else here would be kind enough to type out the quote that is on the red box? Every unboxing video I've watched says "oh, you've all heard the quote a hundred times in other unboxings." Nope! Still trying to find it. 😁

Hi Marilyn! The quote says, "It's OK if it were a lie or a joke, try saying, "I had something good today, too." And then, close your eyes. Something as good as a tiny stone, is rolling here and there, more often than you think." - Safety Match's Fireplace Chat

You were so on point when you mentioned about the quotes and the rest of the pages in the Weeks. I didn't mind it but I would have liked to at least get to read and use the back pages at least one time. Otherwise I just cover it up and ignore it. And as you know, I love a chunky planner so my first foray to the Cousin didn't work well since I got the one book and I couldn't journal at the end of the year due to the bulk of the planner. Hence why my next foray is the Avec in both Hobonichi A formats. (Yeah, it also happened to the English A6 😅😆.). TFS, Karyna!
@KarynaLovesToPlan2 жыл бұрын
Hope the Avec works out for you - I do love how chunky it gets and I'm so glad there is an Avec version to help with that bulk!

Thank you for sharing what you ordered! I'd love to hear your thoughts on what has worked for you as well as not worked with you in the hobonichi system. I opted to go with the kinbor planners this year as I'm not a fountain pen user and it was a more affordable system at this exact point in my life. There's certainly pros and cons to both and I do enjoy hearing people's thoughts, especially regarding the hobonichi planners, on what they like or what works for them. Sometimes leads to me trying something that I perhaps have never considered with my own journaling and planning. 😊I've actually started to at times pre-decorate my dailies as you do. I truly would love to be able to pre plan my week, but I haven't found a format of doing so that works well for me as often activities get shifted around.
@KarynaLovesToPlan2 жыл бұрын
Hello! Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. Yes, I will absolutely film a video on what's worked for me and what I have liked/disliked with the Hobonichi. I'll try film it in the next couple of weeks - hope it is helpful! And I understand about pre-planning - my weeks are generally the same so it is easy for me to decorate around my routine. I found that when I went on vacation, it was harder because there was no routine. So I just decorated where I could then added after. If that works for you, that's great!
@metalmonkeyvideos Жыл бұрын
Just wondering. Why didn't you order the Hobonichi stuff through places like JetPens? Is there a reason why you ordered directly from Japan?
@KarynaLovesToPlan Жыл бұрын
I ordered with a group of people in my city so we split the shipping and customs, and then we got the freebies such as the pens. And it ended up being cheaper that way. And took WAY less time - JetPens to Canada is high shipping and takes forever.

Karyna, I hope you don't mind me asking about the book transcribing. Do you transcribe into or from different languages or what? You've talked about it before and I've never understood what you do it for. Hopefully I'm not overstepping by asking about it!
@KarynaLovesToPlan2 жыл бұрын
Not overstepping at all! I started doing it maybe a month or so ago, seeing other fountain pen users do it. I am currently transcribing a book by Dr Gary Foster on the 7 Habits for Lasting Weight Loss. Once I finish that, I want to transcribe either Harry Potter or (being really high-reaching!) Outlander or Lord of the Rings (which I haven’t ever read). I do it as a daily practice for self care, being able to use more inks, and for reading!
