If the 8 speaker system gets a D, there's a chance the 4 speaker system would be the 2nd car to get an E or the 1st to get an F.

The crackling noise is called "clipping", you can reduce it maybe a bit by playing around with the input gain. In essence, the amplifier is weaker than the speakers, and the sinewaves run into the power supply limitations of the Transistors/Amplifiers, turning it more into a blockwave than a sinewave. Which then in turn means the speakers produce vibrations rather than sinewaves. It is also a quick way to destroy the speakers, because the voicecoils will get more of a DC input rather than an AC, and will heat up and fry. Usually the way speakers die is not because the cones rip, but because the coils burn from an underpowered amp. Im glad I found this video, because my 2009 accord had similar shitty speakers, and it had such poor EMI shielding everywhere that I had to remove 3grand worth of audio hardware from it because I COULD NOT get the EMI / EMC noise away from the sound system. So you could hear the CAN bus noise, the alternator, everything.

Thanks for the review! I really appreciate being able to hear the overall road/cabin noise with the 17" wheels on textured concrete during the final thoughts. This is the best channel I've found for objectively comparing cabin noise levels between cars/trims before an actual test drive.

Sad to see/hear it's not any better than the 8 speaker in the 10th gen, at least to me. I know it's built to a price point, but it hurts to see that Panasonic (the OEM Honda uses for their radios) can make a system like this but then turn around and make an amazing ELS system, given the budget. Like you said, it really does need a sub. On the other hand, Honda needs to step up their audio game for the mid-tier cars. Stop leaving Bose for the top trim.

Actually the 10th gen systems for Honda accord/civic were from Foster according to the Honda oem parts website.

The better option is to replace the speakers with JBL door speaker and tweeter and add a JBL car under seat subwoofer in the back to give better bass this will inprove

@@dancingtimmy500 I just went to the Honda dealer since I have small issues with the car already but it'll be free... glad I found you again bc music is very sentimental to me now. Not 100% sure but they said they might be able to put the bose speakers in from the touring model, depending on the cost I might do it. I suggest driving with Airpods/headphones on when you really want to feel the music. These speakers are tinny garbage cans and its crazy that a little pair of headphones sound better.

Honda stereos are notoriously terrible. We had the 6 speaker 360 watt (don’t believe that spec for a second) sound system in our ninth gen accord hybrid, and it was honestly barely any different sounding than my aunt and uncle’s old base model Nissan 4 speaker stereo from 2007!!!! Honestly the Nissan stereos somehow have decent bass without a subwoofer, but they can be a bit lacking in treble sometimes. That old ‘07 also had its speakers start to distort when it was raining for some reason: I blame paper speaker cones. I replaced the OEM speakers with fairly inexpensive but more durable looking Kenwood speakers, while keeping its OEM head unit. Sound was notably better, especially in the treble, though I think bass depth might have actually taken a slight hit.
@SirajBose8 ай бұрын
I feel Honda intentionally makes terrible sounding speaker systems to make people who value good music choose their top trim - which is $40K + TTL these days. I had a 2018 accord and aftermarket installs messed up with the ANC that Honda cars have (with mics in the roofliner). It bothered me so much after the install, I just sold the car. Do current Hondas still have that ANC setup which need to be disabled for aftermarket installs?
@KT_One8 ай бұрын
Our ‘21 Odyssey has ANC. And a terrible sounding audio system especially for a $40k car. We replaced the Accord with a car with much better audio, seats, ride, and lower road noise levels. Same will happen with the Odyssey soon.

Here to say I test drove and test listened to several brand new Hondas recently, several trim levels of Accord and CRV, and they were ALL terrible. I didn’t test a Touring as at that price point I’m not going Accord/CRV. Road noise and seat comfort was better than previous generations, but still at the bottom of everything else we’ve been looking at.
