It’s really cool how the MSRP is something like 44k (not sure on exact price) and you LET the dealer ships in America put a 20k+ dealer mark up just for it being a type r. It really pushes consumers away from buying it, and I think that’s amazing you let it happen 😍😍

THIS! Back in 2019, I was in the market for a Type R but after every single stealership in 100 miles tacked on 15 to 20k markup, I picked up an SI instead. SAD.

Honda should slap those dealers for price gouging the customers. Sure, you'll always find people willing to pay more, it's a sad fact. But Honda is losing potential customers like that. When I bought my FK8 in Switzerland I didn't have to pay any markup, got mine for a great price. Also, they sell the GT variant here in Europe and it has even more digital features (which I don't use) but they are there. I *love* my FK8 Civic.

I read that the badge numbers have nothing to do with the vin, they specifically put the badge numbers in a random order on the R's so that people don't obsess over who has the lowest badge number

Please help Honda understand that dealerships are the face of their company. If they don’t regulate how dealerships represent their brand and continue to do poor deceptive business practices, all their efforts in engineering and design and marketing goes down the toilet when dealerships run shady businesses. This is especially true in Hawaii. The reason why Toyota has been #1 for years.
