I finally review my 2023 Honda Grom . I touch on a little bit of the mods I have and overall what the bike has been like for me. It’s a visual and chatty type of review. Definitely grab a snack with this one and enjoy!

Exactly. Being small a lot of bikers just don't appreciate how much fun a Grom can be. Because it is so lightweight it is extremely maneuverable and easy to control, particularly useful if you ride a lot in the city. And yet it still earns all the street cred of larger size bikes with it's full clutch and 5 gears. It also gets a lot of people talking when they see one. Even if you have a bike already, the Grom makes for a great companion bike if you're looking for something fun and no fuss. I love my Grom and wouldn't trade it for anything.

If I could get one for msrp I’d totally be all over one, but I can’t see paying the ridiculous markups that stealerships have put this things at. Fun bikes that you can get away with complete hell on them. Riding sidewalks (when they’re empty of course), riding out to the middle of a park instead of leaving it at the parking lot, etc. Nobody gives you the same hard time over them as they would if you tried to do those things on a full size

Truth! Right now is a good time to find a clean one used. Most dealers think they are the only ones with them 🤷🏾‍♂️. In most of my riding of mini bikes i can say that has been my case with the Grom. Most people don’t care where I ride or park them as long as I am respectful of course. I get waves and nods all the time. The e-bikes are even more ridiculous with how little people care but the Grom is like the sweet spot of Street legal yet “I ride where I want” haha

Cool bike. Well explained and nice video. You have a wonderful, relaxed speaking voice. IMHO you are a natural at this youtube stuff. May I ask how tall you are? You look to be a bit tallish and wonder how your fit and knee clearance to the tank is on the Grom? I am a little over 6' tall. Thanks

Thank you for this comment! I really am trying to figure out if I should lean into doing more KZbin. It’s so much fun doing it and sharing it but I don’t like the idea of it taking over my life lol. I also am 5’10” . Full lock I have about an inch about my knees to the bars and my knees fit right in the curve of the tank. The good thing about this 3rd gen of the Grom is that you can scoot back on the flat seat to get more comfortable. Hope that gives you a bit more insight!

That’s how I felt with the 2022 model. I liked the SP but the blue got the ABS. This year was good for me that they combined them. The good news for you is they sell oem fairings in red,black,and blue. So if you really want to be flexible on the color options you could snag the white or yellow and switch them out for another color. Selling the white or yellow will probably give you back the money since if anyone who wants those can’t get them anywhere else…Anyways before I write a book 📕 thanks for watching Razy!

Would love to have the exact same bike with an OEM 200cc engine or so. My ride to work is all twisty backroads along the ocean with speed limits 40mph or below so I've been considering a Grom for a while. I'd honestly get a Surron X or something like that if I could figure out how to make em street legal. After days of researching that just doesn't seem like an option, atleast here (Mass). I just want to ride on 2 wheels regardless of what it is so I think a Grom is a great option for me. I need to suck it up and get my motorcycle license already. I just took a practice test for a motorcycle permit for shits and giggles and aced it lol, it was pretty easy, considering I've never ridden a 🏍
@mintmotos3650
@mintmotos3650 Жыл бұрын
I can relate to that a bit. I love riding on two wheels and mini e-bikes. I got really into Groms just because they were simple, customizable, and straight street legal. It just makes it easy for doing longer rides on the street. Plus you get all the sounds of a bike. What are the requirements to get a motorcycle endorsement in Massachusetts?

If you put me on a sportbike, I cant help but go illegal speeds, its all too easy. Being that Im a professional heavy truck driver, I make my living off my license. So for me, the grom is the answer to being able to keep my speed on check and still ride a 'sporty' motorcycle. I havent ridden in 10 years because of all the tickets I got, lol. Still a bucket list item for me is to do a sustained wheelie. I got to the point where I do power wheelies, but never got to the point of perfectly balanced on one wheel..maybe one day.
@mintmotos3650
@mintmotos3650 Жыл бұрын
Awesome comment! Yeah the Grom is definitely a bike that won’t get you in any kind of trouble with the speed. Wheelies however I can’t say the same lol. I have power wheelied a bike once and haven’t tried anything with my Grom but would love to eventually learn proper wheelies at balance point. As a rider I just feel it shows you have so much control over your bike if you can do them. Hoping to see you back on two wheels with a Grom…or maybe just back on one wheel! 👊🏾

I think these bikes make driving in an urban area more fun. You get to use all the gears and go WOT all the time. Not just that but it makes going down hill fun and having the wind at your back fun when you get a noticeable speed boost. You can also draft suvs and trucks and hop between them to try and pass peope. It just basic turns a boring drive into a lot of little mini games. I always have like speed highscores for different roads, like I got 45 mph here can I get it up to 47?
@mintmotos3650

@mintmotos3650 I've been thinking about this as a first bike as well. On one hand, I feel like I should just put the money towards a Z400 or Ninja 400. May I ask you something? What's the difference between 2021, 22 and the new 2023? Is there anything different than the color? :)
@mintmotos3650
@mintmotos3650 Жыл бұрын
Great question I will try to give a simple answer. The 2021 Grom in North America is the 2nd generation Grom from 2017-2021 which had different styling and a 4 speed transmission. The 22-23+ are considered the 3rd gen Groms and have a 5 speed transmission, a different seat and a little bit larger fuel tank. The 2022 Grom and 2023 Groms are the same with the only difference being that the blue abs model was separated from the SP model in 2022. I guess Honda decided to no longer make these mutually exclusive and in 2023 they made the SP model also the Abs model. Other than that they are the same. Thanks for watching!

@@rileylofin7653 anything less than 300cc would be good. Yamaha MT 300, Ninja 300/400 Honda Rebel 300. If you are into mini bikes like the Honda Grom you may wanna check out there whole mini bike line up like the Honda Monkey or Trail 125 or Honda Ruckus. There are a lot of options New but you would be wise to find a good bike used as your first bike. Hope this helps!

Good question. With the right conditions and a full tuck with a 155-160 pound rider. 72mph but just riding around without effort 60-65 easy.

Are you running premium fuel in your gram?
@mintmotos3650
@mintmotos3650 Жыл бұрын
Short story long. Off the lot I ran 93 octane and I kept running that until my last refuel before I got the tune. I currently have 87 in the tank with my tune but once I run it low I will fuel up again with 93. This may be why I didn’t get it past low 60’s in the review.

Ya know I like the Grom, but I'm kinda worried about people making fun , saying it's a kids bike, I'm not a tall man, and people will say it's a short guys bike, but to tell you the truth I like it

It’s crazy you mention that. I have had moments when people see me with my gear and ask what I ride and sometimes you just know once you tell them you will spend a good minute defending/explaining why it’s so good.

OverPriced And UnderPowered- also Facebook marketplace is full of groms for sale, which leads me to believe that once people have their experiences with these bikes they will more than likely get rid of it, the used market overflow is proof of this, if it wasn't you would not be able to find a used model because nobody would be selling

True you can find Groms all day on Facebook Marketplace. Groms are not for everyone so that’s probably why they are everywhere used. Thanks for watching and putting what you think out there.
