It's interesting to just see that when the Telluride and Palisade came out/debuted it's seems the competition took notice of the outside styling. More rugged, upright, and boxy seems to be the goal. Pathfinder has become, from round and jellybean. Highlander still seems roundish. Pilot is now more upright and boxy. Traverse was and will become more most likely. Ascent is jellybean-like.. Mazda seems to be getting more upright and boxy. Explorer is much sharper as well. Just glad to see the round and jellybean shape fade out.

Such a great improvement. Doesn't quite match the Telluride or Palisade for near-premium, but that's to be expected as not to encroach on the MDX territory. I do like the sliding and reclining 2nd row, which I think the MDX lacks. I do wish the Elite trim had body-color wheel arches and a more upscale grille.

The Telluride and Palisade are dressed up, but I'm not sure they can match the underpinnings of the new Pilot, i.e., engine/trans, efficiency, AWD system, build quality. I would pay $45K for the Trailsport. I'm not looking for a status symbol.
