I'm glad Honda decided to keep the V6 on the Pilot instead of using a turbo 4 like the 2023 Toyota Highlander. The V6 is less complicated and runs smoother than any turbo 4.

Our 2003 Pilot is still running like new, and we bought it for $35K back then, which is over $50K today, and for an almost base model.

Test drove it twice and loved everything about It definitely has better pick up acceleration than the pass models and drives more car like, but feels like a large SUV based on its size profile.

Much better looking than prior gen. Good V6, better transmission. Functional interior other than idiotic buttons instead of shift lever. Still probably best entry in segment now.

A white Elite passed me on the way home. They look better in person and surprisingly smaller than I anticipated. Props on that one Honda. The only thing I can't get over is the fake exhaust outlets on the Elite. Hopefully, Honda with fix that issue and stiffen up the steering wheel feel in sport mode.

Honda did just about everything right on the Pilot.. Except one crucial thing . They gave it a stupid button shifter.. If Honda would have only given it a traditional shifter.. The Pilot would have been WWAAAYYYY better..

Love my 2011 EX-L Pilot. Currently has 115k miles. Clear coat on roof starting to go😢. Not sure why Honda reconfigured the V6 from SOHC to DOHC and KEPT a timing belt configuration. Direct injection will most certainly require intake port and valve cleaning requirements.

The videos and pictures don't really do this car justice. Saw this exact color 2023 Pilot when I was purchasing my 2023 CRV hybrid sport, and let me tell you, the pilot is really nice. Yea.. it's not an MDX but, still a great looking vehicle.

Negotiated my 2023 Honda Pilot Elite right now in Obsidian Blue (impossible to get in stock) at $53.3K. I imagine it's a nightmare to get these in your hands in the color you want. I opted for city vs. offroad for practical reasons and will simply upgrade the tires as needed. I have no major plans to offroad.

The variable cam phasing works better in these applications where going full throttle at high revs to activate the traditional VTEC lobes isn't the most ideal way people drive these kinds of vehicles. Torque curve is much better at low to mid rev range, giving more accessible everyday power on tap.

Car Interiors are so dark and lifeless now. Color is limited to trim pieces, maybe seats, usually on upper models. Exteriors are mostly greys, with 1 or 2 colors. They're slowly replacing color with shades of gray all around us. A sort of brutalism, they've tried implementing at other times. Sadly, now people are on board.

There's an issue that you won't be aware of until you take it home. If my infotainment system doesn't match my android (or wife's apple) app screen, I will not get text messages. If I decide to be on FM/AM, Sirius, navigation, Spotify, etc., I would not be aware of any text messages that I may have received. If I decided to use my on-board navigation system (which I paid extra for) from Florida to New York, I will not receive a single text my entire journey. What's Honda's response. Tough luck. That's the way the system is designed. So, if I receive a text from my wife, son, mother, etc. and I don't respond, they're going to assume I'm busy. I'm not busy. I'm just in a vehicle that is "forcing" me to be on a certain screen if I want to see my texts. Makes no sense.
