2023 Honda Ridgeline RTL-E HPD: Is the Truck-like Worth The Money

I have the 2023 Black Edition. Coming from a 14 4Runner and a 13 Tundra, this thing rides like a dream. Like others, I wish it had ventilated seats, an updated infotainment system, and a little more room in the back seats, but it does lead it's class in cabin room so there is that. I get a lot of compliments from people that never did any research and didn't know all the features this thing has like the trunk, swing open tailgate, and bed speakers. It really catches people off guard. What you truly have over the competition is the Honda name and reliability. Sure other truck brands have class-leading features, but eventually they will need more maintenance and have more issues than with a Honda. To each his own of course, but I read the Honda book and know the history of the company and how much they emphasize quality and reliability. If I was going off road more, I would certainly look somewhere else, but for an everyday truck, this fits my needs.

@@HawkeyeRides saw a video that the oil filter was located between the control arm/bar and the wheel. it could accidentally fell or squeezed by the control arm?i dont know thats why im asking anyone here if they had any issues😂

I test drove a Ridgeline this weekend. It is a really nice vehicle with neat features. What i found disappointing was the power. I had to put my foot into it to get it moving and even more so to maintain speed on the highway. There was a vibration in the drivers seat at 60+ mph. This truck only had 21 miles on it and I tried Drive, Sport, and Econ modes. Is this normal or did i test drive one with issues?

It shouldn’t vibrate, if you floor it 0-60 is around 6 seconds so 70-75 add another 2-3 seconds. Test drive another one, they are all the same engine so it doesn’t matter which trim. It is one of the faster mid-size trucks, what vehicle are you currently driving?

@@HawkeyeRides I currently have a 2020 Ford Ranger Lariat FX4. It is quick as well. At highways speeds a light foot on the gas pedal is all I need to maintain speed. The Ridgeline seemed to need a heavier foot and didn't coast nicely when lifting my foot off the gas.

@@navsnipe the Rangers eco-boost turbo are petty quick and about .5-1 sec quicker than the Honda.

@@HawkeyeRides The torque on the Ranger is available at lower rpm. Maybe I am so used to that type of power. I have had Audi's previously and was similar with the 2.0 Turbo engine. I really liked the Ridgeline's features, just wished the power was where I am used to. I would guess the vibrations I felt could have been a wheel balancing issue or overinflated tires. The TPMS showed 39 to 40 psi. I didn't check to see what it was supposed to be.

@@navsnipe yeah I can understand these turbo are fast off the line, that is more then likely what it is, when they come off the truck this is a common problem with overinflated tires.

I bought the 2023, and it’s really nice. The mentioning of the 5,000 lbs is the maximum, so your comments should reflect this.

This weekend test drove a 23 GMC cannon AT4 Loaded 4x4 Loved it, Beautiful, BUT not as much interior room as the Ridgeline, Honda better get the 2024 update right or GMC will blow Ridgeline out of the water!!!! Ridgeline needs ventilated seats and 360 cameras

I have a 2022. Absolutely love it. Does everything I need it to. Practical & comfortable. The real only issue I have. I wish the the drivers side dashboard was more state of the art, more attractive & better to look at for the money. Other than that, it’s perfect.
