I have a 2017 Ridgeline and it is truly the best midsize truck (cruck). Many great features and we take this vehicle on most all of our trips (comfortable on long drives). We get about 24 mpg in summer and 23 mpg in winter. The trunk is a great place to store things out of sight and secured. Plus the in bed stereo and power outlets are fun and handy. A Swiss Army knife of a vehicle. An SUV with a huge trunk.

This is a true utility vehicle. Most trucks on the road never tow or see dirt. Those same owners live in the suburbs and the only time it gets work is for the weekend trips to home depot or helping g a friend move or pick up bulky items that don't fit in a sedan. The ridgeline drives like a sedan and has the usefulness of a truck. It's perfect for what it was designed to do for most people looking at a non work truck.

Does everything that the Ford did with better Ride and getting 22.6 mpg around town. I have owned F150,Tundra, and Chevy, but I enjoy the Ridgeline the most. Unless you actually need to tow over 5k, or actually rock crawl... This is hands down the best mid-size pickup you can buy. The interior is the roomiest. The back seats actually fit full size adults. The rear seats fold up in such a way that you can squeeze two full size bikes in-cab. The bed allows you to lay 4x8 sheets of plywood flat in the bed. The in-bed storage is amazing for groceries (no more grocery bags sliding around in the bed). I almost never use the tailgate in the 'traditional' way, having the tailgate swing out like a door allows for amazing access to the bed. The ride is super comfortable and quiet. I regularly get 22+mpg on the highway. In town, I'm 20+mpg. The engine is one of the few engines that is known to last 200,000 miles. Honda built quality throughout. I do wish they would have kept the older center console with armrests (what my 2022 has), as that setup is far superior to the new monster center console.

The Trailsport does NOT have an 8 speaker audio system (no center speaker in the dash). Only the Black Edition (2024-25 MY) has the 8 speaker setup. The Trailsport replaced the 2023 RTL-E (which I have and really like) that had the same 8 speaker system as the BE had (and still has). This vehicle has many attributes being a supple yet composed ride, quiet cabin and good MPG compared to similar types of vehicles.

I purchased a 2024 Black Edition about 7 months ago and, although it is definitely the best midsize truck I've ever owned, and I've owned most of them, it's still a bit of a disappointment. I love the way it drives, very comfortable, but the driver assist tech is abysmal, the absolute worst I have experienced. The adaptive cruise is so slow to add speed that I consider it unsafe to use. I am required to manually intervene when I need to add speed because the system takes 2-3 seconds to even begin to add sped! This is unacceptable. Other complaints: the brakes are weak and mushy, the transmission is quirky at times and the feature set is outdated, compared to the competition, especially on the top Black Edition trim. I'm definitely pleased, overall, and I have every intention of keeping this truck long term and I expect it to be as reliable as any Honda, but having owned several Honda vehicles previously and been totally impressed by them, my expectations were high going into this purchase and this truck did not meet them.

The Ridgeline is probably the best for most truck buyers, a comfortable carlike experience where one can carry furniture, 2x4's and bags of mulch from time to time. Let's face it, most people who have their gargantuan full size 4 wheel drive pick ups pretty much use it to commute to work and buy groceries and rarely (if ever) go off-roading or tow a heavy trailer.

I hope Honda won't throw the towel on this one like to other vehicles (Crosstour). I thought 2025 was a 2023 Pilot update equivalent, but nope. I don't really want to deal with that 9-speed transmission. Dealers want over $600+ to service it, the oil is ridiculously priced and so are the 3 drain plugs you have to replace. its a comfortable roomy option for most urban users albeit somewhat overpriced. its still a dated design compared to newer midsize trucks. the tailgate is best feature but the rest is in need of a redesign with the interior, bed and new powertrain. those low wheel arches in the rear do allow for a sheet of 4x8' plywood to be loaded on top of them fairly flat but makes for a more shallow bed than others. you get some room back in the trunk but the compact spare is not worthy of the trailsport badge and hard to access if you get a flat when loaded. i doubt honda will get rid of the trunk in the next gen but the interior should see an update fairly well. id like to see a flat load floor in the back seat covering up that raised c channel which is not very dog friendly. the bed needs more power outlets as well. i hope they keep the v6 as it should get the pilot powertrain w 10 sp tranny. roof rails for a rack to carry a full size spare wouldnt hurt either in the trailsport trim with some more offroad features like skid plates, tow hooks, and bigger tires.

I love my 23 Ridgeline Black Edition. But the 2025 now unfortunately has that Civic instrumentation and still missing a large screen, missing 360 cameras, no power tailgate, no ventilated seats, and no HUD. Still the pluses are a real V6, a wide cabin, can haul 4x8:sheets flat, power folding turn signal mirrors, wireless Apple CarPlay, etc. But my biggest gripe overall is the lack of a powerful sound system for trims under the Black Edition. The TrailSport and RTL and Sport all have a weak 220 watts and lack of subwoofer. Whereas the RTL-E trim they deleted had the better 520 watts.

I would like to see the back of truck filled with firewood or rock and see how it sits and pulls a load, My 2001 tacoma has been loaded and overloaded and has no structure issues. but Honda has my attention about this ridgeline trail edition.

No evidence this truck gos to the new platform in 2025. It just got a refresh. Expect 2 years for the new platform, if they actually continue producing the Ridgeline.

As a Honda owner I wish the brand would update this truck to match the new Pilot. The interior dashboard is still the styling of the old Pilot as well the safety features are not up to date. The center console is that of the newer model. Concept is one of the better ones on the road, that is if you can get over your ego and the absolutely insane truck prices.

How can a vehicle designed in 2024 not have USB ports for the back seat? That's cheaping out on such a simple quality of life feature.

I have a 2024 and my main issue with it is the bed is quite shallow. The underbed storage is nice but if you get a tonnel cover, you will notice that the bed won't carry anything too tall with the tonnel cover down.

How ironic that honda is the last, most truck like, midsize truck after everyone said its "not a truck" for so long. Standard NA V6, 9 Speed auto with real gears, no hybrid BS, and limited "smart" tech.

Good informative video, however it is very surprising that Honda does not offer their Multi-View Camera System (MVCS) on this truck. At the present time, I believe the only model they offer this option is on the Pilot. This does not make sense. This is one of the best safety options for a pickup truck. Realistically, Honda should equip their MVCS on all of their vehicles as standard equipment. This would truly demonstrate Honda’s commitment to safety.

Nice bed liner??? It's a composite bed and has been since they started the truck.

Thats what i was thinking. The entire bed is a thick composite material which is really tough. You can load block and bricks in it and it cleans up like new.

This is not a bad truck but I think we all know including Honda that this desperately needs a redesign. It was fine when it came out in 2016 because it was based off that last gen pilot. Now its more related to the passport and you can tell that its aging just like the passport. However, this is still one of a kind when you think about it.

They did not just put that line between the truck bed in the cab for aesthetics. That is there so that the body panels can be replaced independently in an event of a crash. It is not an aesthetic reason.
