Matt, I don't know if I will actually install the kit, or not. At the very least, I'll wait until the 2023 Trail 125 with all the Japanese OEM parts on it (the one in the video) goes over 2,000 miles or so, or I get bored. I hate to tear down a new bike and mess with it. If you didn't see the video from Vetch, here is the link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mH-Tf4ZsabBoq68 In it, he says it is nice to be able to shift down from fourth to second without having to use third gear, and third to first without using second and so on. I can see that that would be nice, but it is a pretty low priority with me. For my hurricane news, please have a look at my reply to Richard. I also have no replies yet from anyone in Florida who wants to join me for the ride to Richloam that I pitch at the end of the video. I don't think I'll make that ride if there is no interest in it.

@@Vintage_GarageI did watch the video from Vetch, thanks, it was interesting what he had to say about down shifting and missing out 3rd gear. Be good to know what you think if you do decide to install it. Glad to hear all ok with you regarding the hurricane, it’s a shame about no takers as of yet for the ride to Richloam, hopefully you’ll get some interest very soon.

Thank you for taking the effort to post this video. I purchased the clutch kit and was able to get the instructions translated to English thanks to your information posted and links. Much appreciated!

Nana, Thanks for watching and your kind words. I see that Vetch Channel is still using his kit, so he must really like it. I have eye surgery coming up in both eyes in a couple of weeks, and hopefully it will be successful, and I will be able to see well enough to install the Takegawa kt on one of my JA65s.

Hope all goes well for your eye surgery. I have a JA65 as well but won't be able to get to install clutch kit for several months. I hope you can record and post your clutch installation as well as any advice for others who will be installing. It will help with my install for sure. Warmest regards.

Richard, Thanks. My house is pretty far inland and at an elevation of about 115 feet, so I have no chance of storm surge, and very little chance of hurricane force winds even it the storm passed right over my house. The real risk here is for the isolated tornado that might get spawned by a hurricane. There was no damage anywhere in my neighborhood, but some of the streets in Crystal River (the closest big waterfront town) were a couple of feet under water. I didn't see any storm surge water damage. It was more like a high tide that rose slowly to 7 feet above normal, flooding the whole town. Later today, I'll ride one of the Hondas out Ft. Island Trail to look how it made out. I was halfway out there yesterday in my van, and road crews were still sweeping debris off the road, so I turned back. There was sign saying the boat ramp at the end was closed. I saw many 50+ year old palm trees missing their tops, but still standing. I'll compare it to what I saw there a couple of years ago: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y2aTeYiqe8lgic0

Directly west of Wildwood, FL. They probably got some heavy wind damage 😳 ! When I was trucking, many years ago , a bunch of us truck did hurricane relief out of Wildwood for about a month . Then a few years ago when Trump was in office , another group of trucks spent about a month in a big parking lot close to an airport close to Sarasota, Fl . They flew several big planes in with Trump's motor group to tour the damage . We could see 👀 the activity in the distance, and then watch his speech on TV. Hurricane 🌀 cause a lot of power line damages in Florida .

Pretty cool clutch kit. Looks like a beautiful wildlife management area. Thanks for sharing and ride safe.

Gus, I hear you.. I think though that the clutch kit will sit on the shelf until I have another reason to remove the right side cover of the engine. For example, maybe at 4,000 miles, I'll clean the screen and prehaps put the clutch kit in then. However, I don't think I'll reach 4,000 miles, as I still don't have 500 miles on either of my 2023 Trail 125s. I don't like to take apart a brand new engine... LOL

Dan, Thanks for watching and your comment, much appreciated. The only other Takegawa part I have is a Takeqawa Rear Seat for the Super Cub 125. It is of very high quality as well. I will have a look at that back rest.. I appreciate the tip.

What a beautiful area. Anxious to see how the clutch kit works out. Wish we could go on the ride with you, but will settle for the desert in So. Cal. for now. Have fun.

@@markkennedy5712 Mark, Thanks for watching and your comment, much appreciated. I actually miss the desert and especially the mountains in the distance that you have. As far as installing the Hydro Clutch, I think it will sit on the shelf for a while. I hate the thought of tearing into a new engine when it isn't even broken in yet.. LOL.. I'll probably wait until I have another reason to pull the side cover off, and do it then. Also, I have two Super Cub 125's and four Trail 125s now, and having one Trail with a manual clutch might confuse me.. I see that another man on the Trail 125 forum has a Takegawa Hydro Clutch Kit coming in this week, and he is anxious to install it. I hope he makes a video and gives his impressions of it. If you haven't seen that forum, please have a look at: hondatrail125.com/index.php?threads/manual-clutch-conversion.131/page-5

James, thanks for watching and your kind words, much appreciated. I now have over 100 videos on KZbin, and so it can be difficult to find the ones about the Trail 125. If you haven't already found them, I made up two playlists for the Trail 125 videos. The first one has all the videos about installing accessories. It's at: kzbin.info/aero/PLzD0_ErwwkDDBfcOoQQQYFTY9O0MFEjaH The second one has the Trail 125 rides: kzbin.info/aero/PLzD0_ErwwkDCWnAeCGz1vX6DYpoR6DDTs I wouldn't expect anyone to have time to watch all those videos but you can skim through the playlists and pick out the ones that interest you and just watch them. I try to have the titles accurately reflect the content of each video.

Rob, I hear you! I hadn't thought of that. That reminder was needed and much appreciated. I was more worried that when I rode the Super Cubs or the other CT125s that I would forget which one I was riding. I really don't have much of a need to shift from fourth to second without using third, either. At my slow pace, I am fine with leaving things as designed, at least for now. I also hate the thought of tearing into a brand new engine before it is even broken it. I think the Hydro Clutch Kit will most likely sit on the shelf, at least until the time when I have to pull off the side cover for some other repair. I have been enjoying your videos too, and especially your land speed record runs on your CT125 and your 48 bass day. I think you would enjoy a trip to the Florida Fish Hatchery and Bass Conservation Center.. They have many stocked ponds with a "catch and release" policy, so there are some whoppers in there..

Yes , I think they are just great the way they are , not having that clutch lever there is also a bonus ... That speed record of mine was a bit of fun , I don't actually know what other speed, riders have done on their stock CT 125 but my speed wasn't too bad I thought . And I did overtake somebody on the Freeway as well, that must also be a record for the 125 🤣🤣 . Keep up the great videos, it's good seeing what the lucky Honda Trail owners are up to . Cheers 🍻

@@robfur My best speed on level ground with what I though was no wind was about 53 mph on the ride to Key West at sea level a year ago.. The only hills were approaches to bridges going from one Key to the next. There was also a bit of a slight downhill after every bridge to get back down to level. LOL.. I knew you were having fun with us, and that was what made the video great. Speeds were different coming back from Key West, telling me that prevailing wind behind was good for about 3 mph, and wind coming from the front, good for about -2 mph. I say 50 mph is about a fair call with no wind, level ground, sea level.
