So proud of how far DIY Detail has come - I have learned so much in the last few months of watching and following your videos/guidance - Yvan and Nick have taught me a lot about efficiency and cost effectiveness - but also how to really enjoy detailing - for that I am incredibly grateful - I am buying some more DIY products in January. I wish all of the crew a very happy and prosperous new year.

I haven’t spent this much time on my car since my first sports car over 30 years ago. I hope you both have a Happy New Year! Many blessings to you and your family!!!

Something that I've learned from this channel other than detailing more efficiently, is Slow is Fast. I've been applying that philosophy to everything in my life because I tend to rush into things or get ahead of myself (ADHD doesn't help) and then I say to myself Slow is Fast and I stop and think about what I'm doing and avoid mistakes. Thank you and thank you for always answering our questions without making us feel stupid or like a burden. 🙏🏼

Did it with my 2 sons who have never polished paint. Cut with the wool pad and finished with the rotary. Pad washer was the key to the whole thing. We’re back to having fun! One of these days I'm going to buy a sander for polishing. Curious. Like many, I have a number of clay towels and mitts, and was hesitant to buy the perforated towel. Its gentle nature sold me. Now that I have it, It's an impressive tool. Very well made. Its quality stands out. Love using it. I've never been fond of pressure on clear, and this product does the job beautifully. Using it with the DIY iron remover changed how I go about things. Saves so much time. Is there a speed that's too low for a rotary with a 5.5" pad? My Makita goes down to 600RPM.

Theres a feeling out there that this years SEMA show was a bust because there wasn’t a game changing innovation….well the biggest game changing innovation in all of detailing is…DIYDETAILING! I get so tired of the “established” KZbin influencers that think the companies like CarPro, Gyeon, GTeqniq etc…are the only things worth having….all of DIY’s products are better than any of those companies products. I've heard that one of the main reasons (outside of paint correction) to polish before applying a ceramic coating is that it's the only way to ensure that any existing wax or other protection is gone, allowing the ceramic coating to bond directly to the clear coat. If you're ceramic coating over some other protection layer, it's definitely going to affect the performance of the coating. I've never had much luck with stripping shampoos or foams. My paint always still beads water after using them, so I'd be a little apprehensive of coating without polishing first.
@diydetailofficial10 ай бұрын
Stripping shampoos are great marketing, but as you have learned they do nothing. Yes it’s a risk but not everyone wants or can polish before a coating. Here’s a video that may answer some of your concerns. kzbin.info/www/bejne/f3zZZZqNjrRrerssi=VFDJ9sShSX0NjtIt

@@diydetailofficial Thank you. An informative video as always, but it didn’t really address my concern. How do you remove any previous protection before applying a ceramic coating if not polishing?
@diydetailofficial10 ай бұрын
It depends on the protection. For waxes, wash, iron remover, DIY Detail All Clean , and DIY Detail Water Spot Remover will weaken it enough. For something like DIY Detail Ceramic Gloss or DIY Detail Quick Beads, Time ( 8-12 months) or polishing.

What about foam rinse foam for rinseless if using a sprayer? Would you recommend: rinseless spray, rinse, spray again, then rinseseless bucket wash with sponge? Or is that second spray down after rinsing and before bucket wash overkill?

So question when it comes to drying aid is there any concerns with putting not as durable protection on first with being the aid and then a longer lasting protection over top? Wouldn't the longer lasting one fail as soon as the protection the aid left on the surface fails?

so in the hot VERY VERY humid texas weather, the rinseless washer is drying to fast even in my cover wash spot. NOT AC, NOT GARAGE but covered. I pre rinse, rinse, rinseless the car and by the time I come around to contact, the car is almost dry and the road film that is left that I need to use the sponge has now dried to the car again. The only way I have been to counter this was to Pre Rinse, Rinse, FAST FAST Rinseless, then rinseless spray on a panel and contact wash and go panel by panel. What do you think anything you can suggest. I am also washing with city water not ionized or softened water.

Dude, you guys are trippin'. A rinseless wash is NO RINSE . You two say it's rinseless but only at the end. Makes absolutely no sense.SMFH
@diydetailofficial9 ай бұрын
Your confusing waterless and rinseless, it’s a common misconception.
@dcurry81479 ай бұрын
@diydetailofficial no, I'm not. You're calling it rinseless. If it's rinsless, you do not rinse off the pre-treat.. If you have a pressure washer to where you can rinse the pre-treat ,then go ahead and use it to rinse the final rinse. Makes no sense.
@dcurry81479 ай бұрын
When you get the pressure washer out and rinse off the car, whether it be at the beginning, middle, or end, it is not a rinseless wash. Geeeezzzz A waterless wash is a quick way to clean your car without using a hose or a bucket of water. The idea is to use a cleaning solution in the form of a spray or a towel to remove dirt and grime from the surface of your car. Waterless washes are designed to be used on a dry surface, and the cleaning solution helps to lift dirt and debris away from the paint so that it can be wiped away with a microfiber towel. A rinseless wash is similar to a waterless wash, but it involves using a small amount of water, typically in the form of a bucket of water mixed with a cleaning solution. The idea is to use the soapy water to clean your car and then to use a microfiber towel to remove the dirt and debris from the surface of your car. Rinseless washes are a more thorough option than waterless washes, but they still use less water than a traditional car wash.
