Great dealership, great service. Bought my first Indian there in 2017, it was my daily driver.

I need to check them out. I bought my Scout Bobber 20 at Indian of San Diego, but El Cajon is actually closer to me. With the Scout redesign, I'm likely going to move on to the Chief Bobber Darkhorse for my next Indian.

Stop by whenever you'd like. We have a 2024 Chief Bobber Dark Horse and a 2024 Sport Chief, both in Black Smoke, ready to go right now.

@@indianmotorcycleofelcajon just keep up the good work. Maybe some content on Indian accessories would be good. Been riding harleys the past 40 years but now think it may be time to switch as i think harley is losing its Way

That's a good idea on the accessories. And first step is going on a test ride. You'll love it.

0:36 Doesn't this bike have 30 less horsepower than the new scouts? It isn't even more powerful than the old scouts, unless you count the Scout 60 that has about the same horsepower.
@indianmotorcycleofelcajon2 ай бұрын
You are absolutely right. BUT it also has 38 more ft lbs of torque that the scouts. Both hp and torque play a role in the powerband in different ways.
@Rhetorical3462 ай бұрын
@@indianmotorcycleofelcajon no, horsepower moves vehicles. People who talk about torque generally have no idea what they're talking about. Torque firgures just describe how much horsepower an engine is making at a particular RPM. Horsepower is derived from a formula that will tell you how much wheel torque you can produce using gearing. That's what actually matters.
@indianmotorcycleofelcajon2 ай бұрын
Almost. Torque is what gets your motorcycle moving from a standstill and helps it climb hills or tow heavy loads. It’s the “oomph” you feel when you rotate the throttle. By definition, torque is a measure of the rotational force applied to an object. Horsepower, on the other hand, is a measure of the rate at which work is done. Horsepower determines the top speed and acceleration of your bike. It’s what keeps you moving at high speeds.
@Rhetorical3462 ай бұрын
@@indianmotorcycleofelcajon one part of your comment is correct, horsepower determines your acceleration. Torque measured at the motor is nearly meaningless in the grand scheme of things. Torque at the WHEEL is what matters. And how do we get torque at the wheel? Conveniently, horsepower is a formula that describes how much wheel torque your engine can produce using gearing. That's what you feel when you rotate the throttle, WHEEL TORQUE. That OOMPH is horsepower, not torque. Because as you said, it's horsepower that is accelerating the bike.

What can I say? You seem to know it all. Well done. Regardless, it sounds like a traditional pushrod engine, like the Thunderstroke, is not for you as it is designed for more torque than horsepower. You would be much happier with a DOHC engine in a Scout, FTR, or Challenger.
