the 2022 FTR Carbon was the best looking one of the lot. the new ones are a bit Meh, plus as you said the price, it pushes it out of the competition for the bikes in this power range. here is Australia , the FTR Sport is 7k or so more than the MTO9SP or duke 890R, 5K more than the 765RS and even a grand more than a Streetfighter V2.

Went with the ducati monster cuz lightness, equipement, heat of exhaust collector on ftr (tho ducati still heat a bit), price…. But main factor was the ridiculous range of the 12L of ftr… comon indian! Give more! Tried ftr carbon and looked so good. And love the tubular rear wheel hold! Sexy « industrial » style And the new tft display from the chief was a great addition as previous « cheaper » ftr were old tech… kinda wish we had a kawasaki z900rs style tho but hey can’t have all

well i often go for a 200km ride... and if you hit it a bit in the mountain, well you are below, in mountain, where gas station are not that often... Quite frustrating. its manageable but too low for my use. Also, i go to work with and there is 160 to go and come back ... some on highway where i barely can do it... No go sadly. monster make it twice and i m happy with it :) @@markellott5620

The 2022 FTR R Carbon is still the best looking. My wife did 16k km already on it and she loves it. Indeed the stock version has some comfort problems but you can make it into an incredible comfortable machine with these mods: 1. Decat, K&N filter + Lloyds secret sauce tune (no more jerkiness, fiddling or cold start issues) 2. Sadleman seat + ProTaper handlebars + Gilles rearset (very comfortable position) 3. Suzuki GSXR link for the gear rod (no more false neutrals or problems between 5 to 6, also clicky gear changing makes it perfect) There you go, now you have the best looking bike, the best character and now the best comfort!

They should build something similar to the MT-01 with their bigger water cooled V twin used on the Challenger. I find it attractive, specially on that paint scheme. HOWEVER, the negatives are too strong for me. Tiny fuel tank, too short suspension travel (at least on the rear) and too heavy. The massive muffler can probably be fixed easily for a lot of $. Why does it get an adjustable brake lever but not a clutch one ?

the grey on the 2023 carbon was definitely the wrong choice. I wish the frame, tail section, shock spring, rims, etc. were red on the carbon. bike like that should pop as you say. i drove one once, it was a very nice bike. I am not a fan of the sport's fairings and extra plastic bits though, this bike looks best when it embraces its flat track look. I mean, you sorta said it in the video...its chunky, other bikes are lighter...handle better and cost less...so why choose a FTR? cause its the only flat track/badsass looking bike out there...in that guise its beautiful and unapologetic...to add generic looking bits to it only detracts. The Sport version is the one to get for sure in terms of options and cost...just wish it had better color/graphic options...like a "sport heritage" where they take the black one, put the red wheels on, the carbon tank stickers/graphics and leave off the extra plastic bits...that would be money right there.

Only three people complain that their rear sets are too high and too far back. Harley Davidson people, my grandmother and this guy. I will say this about the FTR.. the feeling of being swindled with that bitchin prototype tracker masterpiece floating in 2018, & that piece of S#%T pile that became production in 2019 is in my rear view. This new bike is actually,, dare I say surprisingly good🤯Have you guys ever ridden one one w/17’s? Literally the best thing Polaris, err Indian Motor Co has come out with in the past 5 yrs. Still ugly mind you.., but a perfect balance of a street machine with the capability of doing track days with some basic suspension tuning, slicks, and upgraded brake pads. Whats wrong with the 2018 and 2019 models?
@WreckingCrewHR4K9 ай бұрын
Nothing wrong with the any of the early models, I purchased the 2020 FTR with 18 & 19 inch wheels because I love the old flat track style with spokes, However, I have redesigned all of its bodywork and decal graphics as pictured in my profile above, with an Evel Knievel Stars and Stripes and lowered the seat height in the process, to my knowledge there are now nine different FTR models but they all look pretty much the same other than decals and colours, I must admit that the early models got quite hot between the legs during a good blast through the twistys in the summer months so I designed a ram-air intake on the left side of the engine that seems to have cured the problem, I guess what I am trying to say is the designer should have taken a break in 2021, just saying,..Otherwise I Love Absolutely Everything About It,.. OAP Wales UK.

Guys Guys, I think there’s a misunderstanding going on here. I was talking about when Indian teased us for one year with the FTR prototype bike prior to the production model that has essentially been the same for the last five years . I understand the purpose of concept bikes is to stir the interest in potential buyers and gauge interest for manufacturers. I also understand that a vehicle in prototype form could differ greatly from concept due to cost, safety, emissions, noise, etc. That said, I feel cheated that almost nothing from the prototype bike they hyped came to fruition of what we can purchase today. Does this make sense now ? Copy/paste link below. I know you guys have seen this b4. Such a sick bike. Ahh what could have been😔 kzbin.info/www/bejne/i3_VgneDj7qrgc0si=QKbtg3EThOTimzgP

I was REALLY starting to like this bike until you highlighted the weight. Brakes roters look cheesy, My advice to Indian is to scale the motor down and lose WEIGHT smooth out the power and engineer in some more rpm ....in other words MORE SPORT....and American take on Ducati. I just find no excuse to the thing to weigh so much....maybe if it were a shaft drive the weight would makes sense but its just a naked bike so where is all the weight coming from? KTM 1390 only weighs 467 wet so absolutely doable. The KTM 1390 is in so many ways a similar motorcycle with big V twin trellis frame. Granted the superduke is a few more thousand dollars than the top spec FTR models but the weight and power difference the bikes are worlds apart....and WHY??

Who actually buys this motorcycle as a scrambler to perform offroad and adventure riding?? With such huge engine of 1200cc capacity and the weight the comes with it, who on earth will ise this motorcycle for off road ridings, to go on trekking in woods and mountains and rocky terrain. It's absurd that this bike is designed as a scrambler. It's better on highway and sometimes in city on proper roads and to show off its massive and very cool looks.

I've never sampled the FTR1200. I did take the Scout out on demo and absolutely hated it. If the FTR engine is anything like the Scout, no thanks. Way too much vibration, felt like it didn't want to rev, wasn't all that quick, suspension beat me up after only 20 minutes, didn't particularly like the sound for a Vtwin. FTR better be seriously different than the Scout.
