The only thing infinity needs to do with the interior display is extend the digital display out to where the vents are so it’s a wider digital view and touch screen… the air vents can be vertical on top of the wider digital screen …that small change will make the interior stand out above competitors
@spideywhiplash Жыл бұрын
Agree. I drove one of their 2023 SUVs and it had a wider display like you mentioned. Loved it. But I prefer sedan's so I bought the 2023 Q50.
@williamlong2682 Жыл бұрын
I’ve always thought this car gets a harder time than it deserves. Looks are a great balance between being distinctively Infiniti and still somewhat conservative and not begging for clicks, and I don’t take as much offense to the interior, especially the tech/infotainment as some people do. Love that the twin turbo V6 is standard unlike LITERALLY EVERY OTHER ENTRY in this segment (except the Model 3 ofc), but just wish the driving dynamics could be a little more dialed in. I appreciate that it’s not as clinical and perfectly sharp as the German choices in this segment, but a little more feedback to the inputs would be awesome. Wish Infiniti had the courage and balls to be more of a “different, niche” option in this segment, but alas, Infiniti wants every sale it can get, I guess.

Personally I’m glad they did minor tweaks to the Q50, it’s not a bad car at all it’s quick and frankly looks good. You can pick up this same 23’ used w roughly 20-30k miles for a good 25k if you know how to talk your way to that in a dealership.
@bigd7386 Жыл бұрын
This was refreshing... It's obviously not the freshest thing, but it's SOLID. And it still looks REALLY good and has aged very well. Yea you could get a BMW or MB for $50k+, but you'll also be getting a 4-cyl. There's just something about a good sport sedan with a 6-cylinder. I also agree that the infotainment is pretty good to use with being able to keep CarPlay up on the top screen while still being able to do everything else on the lower screen It doesn't have all of the fancy new tricks and features, but most people don't even use those outside of the first few months. It usually set your music and climate and go, and if you got CarPlay, that covers everything else.
@MrSeagoblin123 Жыл бұрын
This car will last a long time, if you buy it used you may run into transmission issues by the 50-60k mark. But after fixing that, you are good for atleast 250k miles. I have an m35 with the 3.7 engine and with 220k miles and a q50 with 50k miles. Totally worth the purchase.

28:20 Press/hold lock+unlock buttons at the same time on your fob for a few seconds while you're near your car. It'll shut the honk off when you use fob. It's an old Infiniti trick, if it still works. I've heard it works on Nissans too.

@cmk921 Жыл бұрын
I’m not sure if you figured out, or looked up the process, but you can “trick” the system into displaying digital speed in the center display. I don’t know why Infiniti didn’t make that standard. Also, the non-red sport 3.0t motor runs hot and doesn’t have quite enough of an oil supply. This means the far cylinders tend to see a high rate of head gasket failures and then you get a new motor. Warranties are essential. Essential.

I have an 08 G37. I got to drive the 2020 Q50 for a few days while mine was in the shop. Q has a lot more low-end torque but G pulls harder on higher revs. I prefer the G engine mapping. Much smoother around town and when I rev it out, it pulls. Q is the other way around. I keep chirping in town and when I want to have fun a bit, nothing much is up there.

Complain all you want about mundane things and no refresh, but, this car is very well developed and there are lots of parts for it. It can take a lot of abuse and still thrive on.The Infiniti V6 is another very well developed component and this engine is surprisingly quick. The problem is my 2016 Q50 Red Sport looked almost identical to the new Q50, they are stuck in quicksand. I enjoyed the Red Sport but the Q50 has hardly changed in 10 years!!
