It's as close to a "screamer inline 4" as a two-stroke could get. So we have a slightly better sound with all the urban real world rideability. Does the 270 degree engine translate to a slower or faster top-end compared to a 180 degree on the same cc bike?? (I'm guessing not slower, since the 270 is used on an R1 and the Aprilia).

Kawasaki is a long-established brand, and the Ninja 400 engine is reliable, proven, and tested; there is no doubt about that. CFmoto, aren't new players either. They have been around for decades, are known for their ATVs and UTVs, and have a joint venture with Pierer Mobility (which owns KTM). So CF Moto actually manufactures engines for several KTM models, as well as using KTM engines in some of their bikes. In some regions, KTM also supports the dealer network, takes over distribution, and provides parts for CF motos. About the 450SR's reliability, they claim they’ve tested the motor to over 4000 hours of high-revving punishment on the engine dyno and are confident in its reliability. But it's a completely new model with a brand new engine, so in terms of how long it'll last, only time will tell. So if your priorities are reliability, resale value, aftersales service, and looking for learner bikes as a stepping stone before you move up to bigger displacement bikes, the Ninja 400 is your best bet. But if you have the same budget but are looking for more modern bikes (in terms of styling, equipment, and features), don't care about resale value, and are willing to take a risk by buying from a less established brand, you might want to try the 450SR. And for CFMoto riders, please share your experience and your thoughts about your bikes in a comment below. Do you recommend them?

I own a CFMoto, they are very reliable, my bike's engine has NEVER game any problem. I got a few punishment for a component but it was my fault since it was my first bike ever, so I was totally new on taking care of it. Besides that, it has been an awesome bike, reliable, with a hell good looking style, and they steel people's stare. Tires are awesome, design is awesome, it's just taking care of the bike. Other owners that are friends of mine, have the same opinion. Over all the other Chinese market, CFMoto is DEFENITELY worth the try. I tried and the outcome was amazing.

@@nikolajovanovic8875 mate, the clutch basket is alluminum to almost every bike being sold lol, not just CFmoto. You probably dont shift the bike properly. I dont think a Japanese bike is going to solve that. Learn to shift smoothly. Also Ninja 400 clutch basket bolts are known to snap if you torque it a little too much. Just because it's Japanese doesn't mean it's indestructible to improper use. As for CFmoto parts, you can buy them for significantly cheaper online in Ali Express. Dealers just like to charge higher because they know the demand is high.

I know a top rider that utterly abuses a Ninja 400 in the twisties-- 57k hard miles leading fast rides and track etc redlining it all the time lol and the thing just keeps performing well. There's no way CFMoto even if it's decent reliability is going to hit Kawasaki's stone cold reliability. Also more parts/customization for the Kawi. I also can appreciate a Chinese biz making quality bikes and wish for their individual success, but being that I absolutely hate the evil CCP I can't support lol. I hold this same for all products tho and buy "cheaper" everyday products that are made in Vietnam, India or Taiwan over China whenever possible.

Nice comparison, thanks! A lot of work that went into creating these details with the graphics and design. Kawasaki will have to upgrade the Ninja 400 to the Ninja 456 now. ;) I remember my Ninja 250Rs were a lot of fun before trading them in, and could handle most basic freeway situations fine, so ultimately, that is what counts the most for the rider. Handling, comfort, reliability on the Ninjas are great IMO. I'm a big Kawasaki fan, but it's good to see more variety for riders.

I have 2,200 miles on my CF in two months. My turn signals are not self cancelling - only thing I’d say wasn’t accurate in this video. May be a US vs UK spec. Small detail about ergonomics - the seat has a divot towards the front so you’re actually more upright than tucked in, but there is an acute hip angle as states. I get about 60 MPG. The sensors on the bike are great, if I do so much as take the cover off the bike I get an alert. The app is fantastic, you don’t have to do anything for it to track your ride unlike other rider apps. I live in Colorado so I’ve taken it through twisties, mountain passes, highway runs, etc - whatever you’d like to do the bike is more than compliant. Awesome bike

I think my biggest issue with people talking about this bike is when they mention the winglets and how they don't believe they help a small bike. They don't understand winglets or aerodynamics. Winglets on a bike will start contribuitng downforce a the same speed whether its a liter bike or a 250, the engine has nothing to do with it. So yes. They are functional on the bike, and yes, they benefit any bike, although the average rider wouldn't notice a whole lot of difference. You'd see a bigger difference on a track day because your lap times would show the benefits of the extra downforce when it comes to handling, consistent cornering, etc.
@AzuBetta
@AzuBetta 4 ай бұрын
lol that misundestanding might be just a you thing, mostly everybody know winglet is about the speed. But, eventhough winglets do have affect on the bike with speed, you do need to realize aerodynamics is HARD. Especially on a bike whyere even the rider contribute to the overal affect of how air move. In motoGP, they spent so much money to cheese out the effect, and it's not simple as you think vroom vroom high speed = down force. The airflow change when the bike is leaning, in corner, the rider move around, turbulance... do you really think, for this price, that this bike winglets really have you gain true meaningful down force !? the facts is yes this bike is nice, but the winglet is surely a cosmetic parts, not the real factor like motogp. It's not simple as oh just put wing 2 sides= better traction, it's a headache and money sink to deal with how airflowing, providing down force, but then have to get rid of unwanted turbulence... What you are saying is true on paper, but that's it, it is imposible to produce bike that for thousands of people with different body and clothes and posture to even worth putting millions of dollars into research and then sell it for a price of 5 grands =)). It is what it is, a cosmetic that maybe have tiny tiny bit of down force, but mostly it will just create unwanted turbulance that has more chances to slow you down than anything. It's ok to have that to looks cool, but that is very naive to think it is anywhere near the level of important and true wing.

Aside from a classic Ducati like a 998 just for cool factor(and acknowledging ill be wrenching), any serious riding I do is on Japanese bikes because there's literally nothing that can compete in the long term durability and ease of maintenance and I don't think that'll ever change. Can't tell you how many people I know with Aprilia's that have to have constant maintenance work on them-- electronics, leaks you name it -- I don't doubt these CF are "decent" but I'd seriously doubt that they do better than the European brands which all have much more extensive maintenance and shorter mileage lifespans than Japanese.

Wrong facts. The 450sr weight is a full tank 179 kg and empty tank weight 168 kg. ninja 400 weight is a empty tank 168 kg and full tank same like a 450sr 179 kg. Sou weight is same both bike.

If a had a chance i still choose kawasaki n400. Still can match the 450sr on topend. Japan brand has different power output compare to china brand.realtalk. Imagine sr has 50cc more displacement but ninja400 can still match

@@Nene_760 - Absolutely - all day. I purchased a seat from China that has a bit more padding yet still minimal (no granny seat or expensive Corbin). Got it within weeks after purchasing the N400, so I never road long distances with the stock which is thin. This seat has just enough padding to slightly minimize forward slide/nut crunch (which is not bad to start with). I have a Honda Interceptor 800 Sport Tourer and the N400 is more comfortable ergonomically -and lighter by 158lbs. In case anyone is interested, the seat is: C.C. China is still China. cfmoto manual states oil needs to be changed every 3000km, while ninja oil changes in manual are 4 times more - 12000km, there goes your cfmoto reliability.

@@deeznutx lol look around seen a bunch.of zx4rr to ninja 400 comparisons. Not sure they are saying equal just comparing the new unknown 400 to a bike most can relate to as they know what ninja 400 is. Just using ninja 400 as a reference point. Honestly comparing a bike should be size and cylinder direct, 400 twin to 400 twin 400 four to 400 four. But see 700 twins like r7 compared to 400 twin, guess it is just contrasting the 2, though in my book silly. Like comparing 1300 hyabusa to 1000 bikes, quite meaning less to me

@@rt2255 I agree with this reply of yours. Yammie noob kinda compares the zx4rr to the n400 but realized that they are not in the same category he also thought to compare it to the r7 and realized the same thing. The zx4rr has its own categ and at the time, it's one of a kind.

The CF450 has a lot of eye candy features, like many CCP products. At the end of the day kawasaki is definitely a known entity, and like you said resale value..... That's huge, and it's important to respect your money. Personally, I will pass on the eye candy, I want proven reliability and to get some of my money back out of it.
